This car was sold on April 15 for $6500, but I'm relisting the car because the previous winner from California was unable to make payment and pick up the car within a reasonable time frame, so if you can't make payement within 7 days of auction closure then PLEASE don't bid on the car.
A little bit of Alfa Romeo History:
Alfa Romeo is an Italian automobile manufacturer founded in 1910. Alfa Romeo has been a part of the Fiat Group since 1986. The company was originally known as A.L.F.A., which is an acronym for Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili.
The Alfa Romeo Alfetta was produced from 1972 through 1984. It was available in either fastback/coupe or saloon configuration. The design was penned by the famous coachbuilder Giorgetto Giugiaro. Its attractive design matted to powerful engines and priced reasonably well, were the ingredients for its popularity and over ten years of production.
There were a variety of engines available during its lifespan. There were two four-cylinder DOHC engines with two double-barrel carburetors, and a turbo-Diesel engine supplied by VM Motori. The Diesel, introduced in 1979, was initially 2-liters with fuel-injection, but in 1982 was enlarged to 2.4-liters.
The drivetrain structure was unique for Alfa Romeo, a design that was first used on the Alfetta 158/159 Grand Prix cars. The transmission, clutch, and differential were placed in the front to maximize weight distribution and amplify the vehicles handling capabilities. The rear suspension was a de Dion beam while the front was double wishbones and torsion bars.
In 1979 the Alfetta was given minor cosmetic updates such as a revised front-end, new lights, and new wheel rims. Another facelift in 1984 resulted in a name-change, the Alfa Romeo 90. This new name aligned the Alfetta with the Alfa Romeo naming scheme, which included the Alfa Romeo 33 and 75.
The Alfa Romeo Alfetta was a very popular car because of its stylish Giugiaro design and powerful engines.
The Alfa Romeo GTV-6 was produced from 1981 through 1986. It was powered by a V6 single-overhead cam engine that displaced 152 cubic-inches. The engine produced just over 150 SAE horsepower and was mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Disc brakes could be found on all four corners and steering was by rack-and-pinon.
The GTV-6 had a coupe configuration with two doors and seating for four. Standard equipment included leather upholstery, tilt steering wheel, magnesium wheels, metallic paint, and air conditioning.
Enthusiasts were instantly receptive to the Alfa Romeo GTV6 model, and many motoring magazines of the day placed it among their top 10, best new sports cars, heaping almost unanimous praise on the hot new version of the Alfetta coupe. And its pretty easy even today—almost 24 years after the fact—to understand why. The GTV6 is a marvelous machine representing a rare unity of design and purpose that happens rarely in the automotive spectrum, especially when we're talking about Italian cars.
At first glance the styling is the big hook of the car: The shovel-nosed, wedge profile looks fast and aggressive without appearing gimmicky, and tapers back gradually to a vestigial kamm tail at the rear. The primary clue to the purpose behind the car—the V6—is found in the power bulge located atop the hood. And what a V6! Alfa engines are always works of art in lightweight alloy, and the 2.5-liter V6 is no exception. With a very oversquare bore and stroke (88mm x 68mm), wet liners and alloy pistons (to reduce reciprocating mass inertia), 60° between the V, and a clever head design incorporating single overhead camshafts working the intake valves directly and the exhausts via a pushrod arrangement, and hemispherical combustion chambers in the head itself, this is one motore that really loves to rev. Rather like the original Alfa 1300cc four-cylinder powerplant—which seemed to like being thrashed at high revs (regular runs to 7000 rpm are no drama in a properly maintained Giulietta)—the GTV6 also appears to really love to rev—160 hp on tap at 5600 rpm, and 157 fi-lb of torque produced at 4000 rpm.
Coupled with a willing, highly sophisticated chassis, the V6 makes driving the car hard an absolute delight, and high-speed cruising is effortless in the best GT manner. Once the suspension loads up in the corners, the GTV6 sticks to the asphalt beautifully with minimal body roll and is completely unruffled by mid-corner surface changes or bumps. All the while, the driver feels incredibly in touch with the road, being able to place the car accurately and flawlessly to the very limits of tire adhesion. When driven in extremis, the power available from the V6—combined with the superb chassis—allows the car to handle very neutrally, with just the right degree of understeer to lead the driver into the next corner. At the same time the unflappabili-ty of the rear end, and the perfect balancing front to rear, allows the brakes to be used as one without upsetting the car when turning into the curvy bits. These manners translate into a car that covers cross-country miles fast without undue effort or stress; and at low speeds the whole package is unbelievably taut and controlled. Alfa Romeo has always excelled at roadholding, and with the GTV6 it scored excellent marks in an already superior package.
This car was also featured in Octopussy (1983). The Alfa Romeo GTV6 gets to show off briefly in a thrilling high-speed chase with police. While some Bond vehicles deploy amazing gadgets, this one is just plain make-you-dizzy fast. Stolen from a German woman using a telephone booth, allowing Bond to make it to the Octopussy's circus in time to warn the NATO General present there of the Soviet plot.
The GTV6 boasts some eye-catching elements, sharing the sharp lines and artfully arched hatchback of its predecessor, the Alfetta GT. But the GTV6 differs from the daintier Alfetta in its use of larger bumpers and black trim, which were trends of the 1980s.
The most popular Alfa Romeo sports coupe ever made. The model featured in the film is a GTV6 Quadrifoglio, the highest specification Alfa Romeo available, and widely considered the finest of these cars, as well as the fastest.
Giorgetto Giugiaro, one of the most famous automobile designers of all time, helped design the Alfetta, the predecessor of the GTV6. The Italian designer was also responsible for the Lotus Esprit that stars in The Spy Who Loved Me.

This car is very strong and solid. Mechanically the car is spot on. The suspension is tight, the motor and transmission are tight. The body straight, the fender, trunk and hood lines are great. The interior is proper and correct.
This car need nothing to enjoy and is a blue chip investment. It is priced to sell and you will not be disappointed.
