A very rare 2600 Sprint (6,999 built) big Alfa. DOHC with six carburetors. Runs quiet and smooth. Body is very straight.
I had the engine in this car rebuilt in the San Francisco Bay area in 1984. I drove it to Montana and boy, is it a sweet ride. I got it painted and then put it away covered indoors.
It stayed there until a couple of months ago, when I towed it to my mechanic, and had him drain and replace the precious bodily fluids. It started right up.
To my knowledge, the engine and running gear are excellent, and the body is beautiful.
The interior upholstery leather and foam padding are shot. Not worn out, just dried, cracked, and disintegrated. It was that way when I got it. The springs and mechanical parts of the seats are excellent. It simply needs to be reupholstered. One original hubcap is missing.
The power windows work. The five speed transmission is what you expect from an Alfa; smooth, close, and fast. Handling is tight and precise. A true Italian dream.
