| I'm selling a very beautiful 1968 AMX. It's an original 290 4-speed car. I've had the car approx. 2 1/2 years. I'll start with the overall condition of the body: Paint is in excellent condition.It was painted about a year ago by Jamie-Lewis auto body out of Pilot N.C. The color is Matador Red. It has NO rust. I was very fortunate to find a car as clean as this one. The interior is the only thing I've not fully completed on the car. The carpet is in good shape as is the dash. I have the original seats that would need a overhaul, but the seats that are in it have been professionally redone. If I were to keep the car I would go through the entire interior and do it to perfection. (That's just me being very picky) The door panels appear to be the original ones and are in pretty fair shape considering. The drive train is a 401 with t-10 four speed. It has a amc 20 rear end. The gear ratio is 3:54 and it's posi traction. The motor has less than 4k on it since its rebuild. It's a great running motor that has 10.5 to 1 compression pistons, custom Reed cam, new 750 dual line Holley carb, and powder coated air gap intake. The motor was also professionally built by KC-Custom. The small details would be it needs a new dash light bulb. The interior light does work just not the dash lights. The tach,temperature,speed ometer gauges all work. The gas guage has a mind of it's own. 3/4 is full, but it still works :). The radio does not work. The shifter boot is not screwed down in the car just as a heads up. I don't know if there's something that is suppsed to go under the carpet that it attaches to. Not really sure. It has new door weatherstrip (top and bottom) and AMX floor mats. I also just replaced the bumpers about 3 months ago. The bumpers where done by Bumper Boys. The car is a huge hit at local car shows and cruiz-ins. It always draws a crowd. I've always been an AMC guy and hate to sell it. Sometimes you just do what you have to do.
