| NO RESERVE, HIGHEST BIDDER WINS! Please no 'joy bidders'. If you bid on this auction simply for entertainment, I will require a $200 compensation to cover eBay listing fees and my time.
I WILL NOT misrepresent anything I sell on eBay. To do so would only be a waste of your time and mine. I value my feedback and have made every effort to describe this car with great attention to detail. So, please bid ONLY if you are as serious about buying this classic BMW as I am in representing it. Seller’s Disclosure: It is the bidder’s responsibility to ask about anything of interest not mentioned in item description and I will answer all questions honestly. Although I describe cars to the absolute best of my ability and experience, I am a fellow car enthusiast and not a professional auto-inspector, and my description should NOT be considered a substitute for a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection). Any inspection is welcome and encouraged, and I will assist in their facilitation with potential bidder paying the cost of the inspection. All inspections must be completed before your decision to place a bid. Once you place a bid you are agreeing to purchase this 2002 as-is with all sales final and no warranties either expressed or implied. Thanks.
Please do not bid if any of the following are true: You’ve never previously owned a classic vehicle more than 20 years old; if your significant other doesn’t know you’re bidding; you’re currently intoxicated; or if you have not read or don’t understand the meaning of the previous paragraph.
What to expect: A well-maintained and much-loved, second-owner, 32-year-old used BMW 2002. What not to expect: A new car.
Listing for a friend, this is a very nice second-owner, 1976 BMW 2002 with only 213k original miles. Because of the consistent care and maintenance this car has received it looks like a car with half the miles. Always garaged by both owners, so there is very little rust relative to what is typical for these cars. Full records for entirety of second ownership detailing everything right down to scheduled valve-adjustments and oil changes every 3k miles. Absolutely classic BMW. Owner’s finances force sale.
I personally have an identical car for sale on eBay that has everything that this car needs, which is primarily interior upholstery and exterior trim. Includes enough extra parts to sell at a 300% profit. The item number is: 110273815346
Mechanical: Runs and drives like new. Newer tires with around 90% tread or more. Newer brakes work flawlessly, transmission shifts flawlessly with a strong clutch, starts quickly with no hesitation and no smoke. There is a set of snow tires and a nearly NOS left side taillight included. Lights, signals, wipers heat, gauges all working including odometer. Working Blaupunkt CD player with removable face (face included, but not pictured). Sunroof opens and closes very smooth.
Interior: Headliner is excellent, door panels excellent, dash is very good with only a few very minor cracks…nothing that sticks out. Original carpet is in amazing condition for age…no holes, tears, or heavy wear spots. Blue seat upholstery is basically gone, but padding is good and perfectly comfortable and sheepskins help on appearance. Pictures should tell the rest.
Body/Paint: Body is very original and straight with surprisingly little rust. Two noticeable dents, one on the hood and one at the rear of the trunk lid, both pictured below. Floors, rockers, shock-mounts (both front and rear) and most of the typical rust-prone spots are solid with no visible rust. There is a rust spot at each of the typical spots near the front turn signals, and a small spot on the windshield post. I’m not a 2002 guy, so there may be spots I didn’t see, but nothing major. All the original factory body tags and stickers still intact, including those under the engine lid.
Buyer will need to bring trip permit or dealer plate to drive home. The car will not come with license plates. If you’re looking for a solid, well-maintained 2002 to drive while you restore…it couldn’t get any better!
As long as the car is paid for within 10 days, I will store the car up to 15 days for free. After 30 days, I will need to charge $25 per week for storage to motivate pickup of vehicle. Believe it or not, I had a car that was paid-for sit for 8 months before claimed! MUST be picked up by end of August.
I have experience with many shipping companies and am more than willing to assist with shipping logistics. Buyer pays shipping costs. Thanks... On Jul-24-08 at 14:13:16 PDT, seller added the following information:
