Our family is moving south and my 1987 cannot make the trip. I had it on E-Bay several months ago and didn't meet my reserve so, no reserve this time. It is a 1987 E30. Body is in great shape except for lastest paint job peeling near sunroof as shown in pictures. Car has typical problems of era - the power window switches do not work. At one point I had sanded them down and that seemed to work for a period of time. I've ready several HOWTOs on the Internet but just have not had the time to remedy. Also, I switched out the Blaupunkt aftermarket stereo for the stock stereo. It needs its security code to reset - again, something I haven't had time to do, but any BMW dealership will give you the code if you you pull the radio to get its stock number.
Also included in the sale are the Alpina aftermarket rims and high performance Kumho tires. New these were in the 2K range and could be sold separately probably for more than you pay for this car. I've also got a set of rims and snow tires I will throw in with the sale. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will need a short turnaround on the sale in order to be able to make our moving date so be prepared to make payment via PayPal or better yet be here with cash to pick the car up to drive home! Pick-up date would have to be by Thursday the 12th.
On Nov-03-09 at 07:04:53 PST, seller added the following information:One note to add, after a buyer asked a question about the engine, my father-in-law and I checked and the car is really a 6-cylinder and not a 4-cylinder. Suprised me a bit as although the car handles great it doesn't have the HP I'd have expected out of 6 cylinder. A few other comments I remembered last night after making the listing. The individual I bought the car from had replaced the clutch right before I bought the car so it maybe has 5-10K miles on the new clutch. Also, he also replaced the dash with one from another E30 he bought on e-Bay so that's why it looks so brand new. Finally, he lowered the suspension on the car so it really corners. It really is a fun car to drive. |
