| Hi,
thanks for looking at my 1984 BMW e30 325e M50 conversion.
Car runs great!! Conversion was performed by a mechanic in Atlanta GA.
ENGINE:
1994 325i M50 twin cam with less than 100k miles.
5 series oil pan
Cold air intake
Turner Chip installed
Stock exhaust manifold mated to a stock e36 325i exhaust system with no cats (sounds great)
Body:
All original except for the passenger side front fender. It was replaced with a BMW DOT-R fender some years ago. It was like that when I purchased the car. Paint is still very presentable and there's ALMOST NO DENTS anywhere!!
A little rust spot under the battery in the trunk.
Bumpers were "lipo'ed" meaning no more diving board bumpers. They are pushed in a little, it looks better in my opinion.
TRANSMISSION:
Is stock e30 tranny. Replaced the fluids with Redline and mated to a 3:73 LSD diff. Also with Redline fluids. Mounted to a solid Poly diff bushing
The stock tranny is held in with TREEHOUSE RACING tranny mounts and brace.
The harmonic balancer does occasionally touch the shift linkage arm when pushed all the way to the left (like when engaging reverse) This is very minor and involves bending the arm a little for clearance.
SUSPENSION:
e30 M3 springs on factory shocks and struts.
TREEHOUSE RACING EYEBALLS solid control arm bushings.
Car handles fairly well, it definitely could use a lower ride height and stiffer suspension for spirited driving
BRAKES:
All stock. Performs well enough.
It does have a different Brake Booster for clearance issues with the engine conversion.
THE GOOD:
It hauls A$$
Turner Chip
3:73 LSD
e30 M3 cluster
Solid Poly diff mount
CD player
TREEHOUSE eyeballs
TREEHOUSE tranny brace and mounts
THE BAD:
*Car does leak power steering fluid from the reservoir to the rack. Easy fix...high pressure hose need replacing, very common.
*Small oil leak from valve cover I believe.
*Contact between shift linkage to harmonic balancer
*Small rust spot
*Power locks don't work
*Power antenna doesn't work
*No AC
*Odometer doesn't work
Donuts and slides like no other I have driven. It burns out in 2nd gear like if it was in 1st. It is a total sleeper. Torque is unbelievable for a mostly stock car, perfect for city driving.
This car was supposed to be my personal play car. I've had plenty of BMW's and just love this car.
