This 1949 Buick Super Estate Wagon, more commonly known as a Woody, was inherited by my friend David Wicks. Like before him, his father inherited it from his grandfather. This vehicle has been owned by David's family since driven off the lot. First owner was Elmond Cobbs from Witchita Kansas. It was then passed on to David’s father Ron Wicks, a member of the Nat'l Buick Club, from Tucson, AZ who began the beautiful art of restoration. Ron completed numerous immaculate restorations on his Tucson property. Many hours of meticulous work show themselves clearly. 90% into the process Ron passed away leaving it to the current owner, David.
The project is built to perfection. Approximately 90% complete. After doing a quick inventory look at the shop/parts manual the front/back bumper, and grille are missing. Unfortunately those parts were sold in a separate lot with another Buick project car.
The motor starts beautifully! With some fine tuning, you are ready for the road.
Side Fenders / Doors and Hood have not yet been painted. It is sitting on a primer with minor work to apply before paint. The Paint used is its identical match from GM Motors. 1 1/3 gallons left.
I could go on and on talking about this '49 Super, however, I'll let the pictures talk for themselves!
