This is a very solid original 1958 Buick Limited Riviera 4-door hardtop that I have owned for approximately 4 years. There were only 5571 of these Limited Riviera 4-door hardtops built in 1958, so this is a fairly rare and desireable car! I drove the car home (approximately 75 miles) after having purchased it. This thing just floated down he road. I believe the 54, 150 miles to be correct. This car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, aftermarket air conditioning, the optional(rare) Air-Poise Suspension, power windows, dual side mirrors, and power seat. The previous owner had gone through the engine completely and it ran beautifully. I have not driven it since driving it home as it developed a fairly severe transmission seal leak while in storage. She also needs some brake work as the vacuum lines for the brakes were plugged due to a rust hole in the vacuum cannister. The compressor for the Air-Poise Suspension had been taken out at some point, but the rest of the system seems to still be there.
I was told that the car spent the first 14 years of its life in Texas. It was then brought to southern Minnesota in 1972 where it was stored for many years, mostly outside. The car is mostly free of any rust, with the exception of the trunk floor and trunk lid(deck lid). As I mentioned, the car had been stored outside, mostly under Pine trees. The trunk channel had filled up with Pine needles which caused water to start getting into the trunk. The lower inside edge of the trunk lid will need to either be repaired, or just swapped out with another trunk lid. The trunk floor and spare tire well will also need some rust repair. All other body panels are very solid. NO rust in either fender, doors, rocker panels, quarter panels, etc. The floor pans are also very solid and show NO signs of rust through from inside, or beneath the car. The interior is 100% original, but it also shows the signs of poor outdoor storage. It will need new carpets, headliner, door panel repair, etc. It does also have a crack in the windshield. Included with the sale of the car is an extra N.O.S. left eyebrow stainless trim, 4- 1958 Buick manuals(chassis service manual, 1958 product school manual, 1958 Buick Flight Pitch Dynaflow manual, and a 1958 Buick wholesale parts manual). My photos of the car show the right tail light missing. I do have it and it is included with the sale(see photo). It looks as though the rear bumper would have to be removed in order to replace it, and the next owner can have the privilege of doing that! This is a rare car that really needs, and deserves a full retoration. My focus is on Chrysler products and I have too many of them, so the Buick must go. I do welcome all international bidders.
