This spectacular looking Riviera was painted less than two years ago. We have had the entire car professionally wet sanded and the paint has that deep shine look!
It is ready to drive...show and enjoy.
We believe the mileage to be actual but cannot guarantee this. Cars in Florida over 10 years of age are titled as exempt. It drives like one would expect a 45 year old car with 30,000 miles to drive.
The chrome & trim are in great condition and the body is very straight...we tried to show every possible angle in the photos.
The interior is still beautiful & original..especially when you consider this car is 45 years old.
We discovered this magnificent 1st year ever Riviera on the West Coast of Sunny Florida...St. Petersburg/Tampa area.
This is the one you want...a 1963...The very first year this car was produced by Buick...it was an instant sensation and as fast as Buick could produce these cars...the Buick dealers sold them..and most were sold at full list price!
The Buick Riviera was not a muscle car, per se, but it had a tremendous impact on the American automotive scene. The Riviera represented one of the most successful American attempts at capturing European styling and performance in a large automobile. Positioned at the top of Buick's coupe line up, the Riviera always represented cutting edge styling and performance and deserves a place in American automotive history.
The Riviera was introduced on October 4th, 1962 as a 1963 model, with a base price of $4,333, although typical delivered prices with options ran upwards of $5,000. Production was deliberately limited to 40,000 or less to increase demand.
With the same power as the larger Buicks and less weight, the Riviera had sparkling all-around performance: Motor Trend magazine found it capable of running 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 8 seconds or less, the standing quarter mile in about 16 seconds, and an observed top speed of 115mph...and faster in a longer stretch of road.
Known as model 4747 and only offered on the sport coupe body style, the Buick Riviera was a huge success, selling 40,000 copies. It sported a dramatic design that broke away from the Detroit mold and into a new era of styling. The front fenders had leading edges that were actually vertical grilles, the rear contours angled to razor edges, and the doors featured frameless windows, a new concept. The standard engine was a 401 cid V8 with 325bhp. For just $50 more, the buyer got a 425 cid V8 with 340bhp. Positioned as a luxury coupe, the Riviera came with every conceivable luxury option and would soon become the flagship of the Buick line.

Performance: 425/340: 0-60 in 8.0 sec, 1/4 mile in 16 sec.
Inside, the Riviera featured a four-place cabin with front bucket seats separated by a center console with floor shifter and storage compartment that was built into the instrument panel, and bucket-style seats in the rear. Upholstery choices included all-vinyl, cloth and vinyl, or optional leather.
We have priced this car very fairly and based on it's overall condition is priced well below what this car would sell for at any major car collector auction.
The transmission shifts correctly.
It is detailed very nicely under the hood.
The doors ,hood, trunk all fit and close as they should.
This car does not have air-conditioning...our cost to have a brand new vintage AC system is $1495.00. It will outperform any AC system that existed back in to 60's and is covered by a one year warranty.
An original Buick push button AM Radio is sitting in the very rear of the trunk..it comes with this car.
The undercarriage, floor pans, trunk pan and frame are solid...not rusted.

We try very hard to describe every car honestly and correctly. We openly encourage every potential bidder or buyer to have the car of your choice inspected prior to winning an auction or to using the buy it now feature.
We are located just 10 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and would be happy to pick you up whenever possible.
If you have a private plane, we are only 1 minute from the Executive Jet Port in Ft. Lauderdale....we keep our plane there. We will pick you up in our Golf cart. We're that close!
Any new car or truck we offer, is covered by the remainder of any existing factory warranty. There is no charge from any manufacturer to continue the warranty when a vehicle is sold to another party when the warranty has not expired.
There are no warranties on any Vintage cars or cars when the manufacturer's warranty has expired.
If 10 different people look at a vintage car you can bet you'll get 10 different descriptions. I have purchased many, many cars over the Internet and off of EBay and for the most part have been pleased. Probably because of the fact I am a true car collector and realize there is no such thing as PERFECT!
If you buy a car from Cars Of Yesterday and are not happy with something, please call us and let us know. If we feel it's our fault, we are only too happy to make an adjustment on the price...even though the vehicle has already been paid for.
