You are bidding on a 1971 Buick Skylark Hardtop. This car has 36556 original miles. I’m the second owner of this car. I purchased this car from the original owner in 2001 with 29000 miles on the car. I have the build sheet and protect-o-plate for the car. The car is Sandpiper Beige with Sandlewood Interior. It has the original Dark Brown vinyl top. The original tinted glass is perfect. All the mechanical systems of this car have been gone through and improved as listed below. Mechanically this car is perfect. The motor is STRONG and pulls like a freight train. The car handles as if it were on rails with zero body lean.
I’ve loved these cars since I was in high school and was finally able to own one of my own. I hate to have to sell it but financial needs have finally won out. So my loss can be your gain.
Mechanically this car is as close to perfect as you could ask. Every system as been gone through. Many items in each system has been replaced or improved on as you will see in the list below. This car is a fun car to drive. The torque and power of this 455 is just amazing. It pulls strong all the way through 5500RPM’s. I’ve never had the car at the track to get any recorded times so I don’t know exactly how fast it is. But it’s fast enough to put a smile on your face, and a little fear in your passengers. The suspension has been entirely gone through and everything was replaced so it can handle the power the 455 makes. If it came off it was replaced with new and/or better. It’s not a soft squishy marshmallow "Granny Car" anymore. This car handles very well and stops much better then stock.
This is a great car that is probably 90% done. The only thing left really is some body work and paint. Anyone who wins this auction will be getting a fantastic ride for the money.
INTERIOR
The interior is in excellent original condition. There are no tears or rips in the seats or carpeting. There is a stain in the front passenger side on the carpet under the floor mat. Looks almost like an old bleach stain. It came factory equipped with the Speed Reminder speedometer and rear view mirror with Map Light. I’ve installed a new rear package shelf in the car. SUSPENSION
The entire front and rear suspensions were pulled from the car and completely rebuilt with all new components. All new Polyurethane bushings front and rear, new front and rear springs, new front and rear sway bars and everything reassembled with new grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers. The result was the car went from feeling like you were driving a soft marshmallow to a car that now handles exceptionally well. It corners level with zero body lean. The ride is firmer then stock but I think the ride is more then expectable and the handling makes it all worth it. The front brakes were converted from power drums to power disks using GM spindles and brackets with all new brake parts.

ENGINE
The block work was done by Stage 1 Automotive in Pompton Plains, NJ. They did all the machine work and oil modifications to the block and assembled the short block. All head work was done by Greg Gessler. The head were opened up to Stage 1 specs and bowl ported.

BODY
The body is in good condition. It is the one area that has not been attended to yet. There is some rust. The paint on the tops of each of the front fenders has checked and moisture has gotten in and rust is leaking through the paint. There is no rot and the fenders are solid. There are a few places on the body where the paint has chipped and there is now surface rust on those areas. (See photos). Just behind both rear wheel openings there is some rot in the quarters. (See photos) These areas are approximately 6" x 6". Easily repaired without having to replace the quarters. There is a 2" tear in the original dark brown vinyl top along a seam. TERMS OF SALE
An initial $2,000 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end with the balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction end. Deposit funds to be in the form of cash via Paypal or certified bank check. Any certified checks will have to fully clear all banks prior to new owner taking possession. You’re more then welcome to pick the car up in person as long as final payment is made in cash.
Seller warrants to Buyer that it has a good and marketable title to said property, full authority to sell and transfer said property, and that said property is sold free of all liens, encumbrances, liabilities and adverse claims of every nature and description whatsoever. Seller has no knowledge of any hidden defects in and to the vehicle, and believes to the best of the Seller’s knowledge that the vehicle being sold is in good operating condition. Said vehicle is sold in "as is" condition and where presently located with no guarantees, no guarantees to authenticity, no buy backs, or no recourse.
