1972 BUICK GS 455
This two owner GS has spent its first 36 years in California & it shows! Original owners were an older couple who sold the car in 2005. I bought the car from the second owner this year. It has only 95,000 original miles & has always been garaged. The car is numbers matching with original motor, transmission & rear end still in the car. The car has had one repaint in Silver Mist that was done quite a few years ago, the original color was gold. Paint is holding up well with a few nicks here & there but not real bad. All body panels are original & straight. This is a wonderful example of an original muscle car with matching number driveline. It is serviced & ready to drive. It runs very strong & drives great. You could fly in & drive it home.
BODY
Paint is nice for an older repaint. There are a few chips here & there. It is really nice & straight other than those few spots. Quarters are original & the floors & trunk are totally rust free. It looks like it had a small amount of repair work done on the lower quarters years ago. Vinyl roof is new & there is no rust at all around the front or rear windows. Front bumper chrome is perfect, rear N25 bumper has a spot where the chrome has peeled, but is very straight with no dents or rust. Grill has a couple of cracks but could be repaired. Wheel stainless, rocker molding, headlight doors, tail lights, hood scopes are all in excellent shape & look great.
DRIVE LINE
Original numbers matching 455 motor runs very strong & has no leaks at all. The engine has a new water pump; new clutch fan & clutch, newly rebuilt matching Quadra jet Carburetor. It is an A/C car but the compressor & hoses are missing. Everything else is in place & would be an easy fix. I also have the bracket to mount the compressor.
The original numbers matching turbo 400 has a brand new TCI Valve Body & a new shift kit. Shifts are nice & firm but not neck breaking.
Original rear end has been completely rebuilt with a new 3.42 Auburn posi unit, new bearings & seals, new brakes. Rear end is better than new!
The underside of this GS 455 is beautiful; there is zero rust or undercoating. It is very clean. The exhaust is a brand new Magnaflow Polished Stainless Steel system including the stainless mufflers, X-Pipe & N25 Tips. The exhaust system is absolutely beautiful! Brakes front & rear have all been totally rebuilt & have brand new rotors, calipers, shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses & seals. The shocks are also new KYB Gas.
Chrome on 15" x 7 wheels is excellent with brand new center caps. The tires are also brand new Diamond Back DB III Redline Radials. Tires look unbelievable with the Silver Mist paint.
INTERIOR
The interior on this GS is beautiful. The carpet looks fairly new, the seats are perfect with no tears or marks on them, and it's a Power bench seat with the center arm rest. Door panels are also perfect with no tears or warping. Headliner is perfect with no tears or sags & looks nice. Dash pad does have a crack & has a cover/mat over it. Glass is also like new condition.
