Here we have a rare 1967 Buick GS 340, these were made in limited number and were only available for one model year. This one is extremely solid and spent most of it's life in states that did not salt the roads. It runs and drives great and has recently made an eight hour plus road trip. It is driven to work 50 miles round trip on average once or twice a week since spring. This is a car that looks good on cruise nights and you could fly in and drive it home almost anywhere. Below you will find a detailed description of the car, please read the entire auction before bidding and feel free to ask any questions you might have. My feedback is important to me and I will answer all questions honestly.
Body; The body is very clean especially for a forty year old car. The frame is very nice, only light surface rust here and there, no heavy pitting. The floors both front and rear are beautiful, no rust through, never any patching, they are excellent. The trunk floor is structurally solid, however there is some scaly surface rust and the areas where the body mounts are do have rust through, for a driver this is not a problem, if you were going to restore the car they would need patches. The trunk drops are clean and solid. There is minor rust at the bottoms of both front fenders but they are straight and solid and should be an easy fix. The rear quarters are very nice with only a little rust at the rear behind the wheels, minor patching will be needed here as well, but again it will be an easy fix. Inner and outer wheelhouses are nice and should not require any patching. The hood and trunk lid are very nice. The doors are straight and solid. Most of the trim is nice, the bumpers still shine but are not perfect. The grill is decent but there are a couple of minor cracks and is definately workable. Wheelwell mouldings and most trim and emblems are intact and in decent shape. There is some minor visible surface rust around the front and back windows but is much better than most cars of this type, and none of it is rusted through. The car was originally Platinum Mist but has since been repainted in a correct for the model Arctic White. They did a pretty good job on the paint and the stripes but it is an old paint job, and though it still shines it is showing its age in places. There have been places here and there that have been touched up. It still turns heads and looks presentable but it is not a show car, but a respectable and solid driver.
Interior; The interior is complete and mostly original down to the correct sonomatic AM radio, which still works. The front seats look decent with a minor cut on the bottom seat cover. The rear seat back has been recovered, and will need it again soon, as well as the seat bottom. The seats are fine for a daily driver, though not perfect they are not terrible either. The carpet is decent and probably usable as it is. There is some cracks in the dash pad but with a new pad and a little tlc the interior will look great. The door panels and headliner are decent driver quality. Pretty much everything works, heater is great, wipers work, it is really a comfortable and functional car.
Mechanical; This is a turn key cruiser, the 340 starts easy and runs great, the carb has been replaced with a Holley but I have a correct Carter AFB for it as well. The transmission shifts great, it has been upgraded from the original Super Turbine 300 to a th350 for the lower first gear, it is pretty peppy since the transmission change. It has a limited slip rear axle with what i believe are 3.23 gears. The brakes have been gone through including a new master cylinder and the car stops great. Steering is pretty good with minimal play. Basically the car is a great daily driver and i would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.
