Cadillac : DeVille & DTS Series 62 1959 CADILLAC SERIES 62 Four Window Hardtop

 You are bidding a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 4 window hardtop that has been partially restored. This Caddy has been in the family since 1989. The complete chassis, engine, transmission, rear end, and brakes were restored in 1994. After the restoration of the chassis the car was transfered to another shop for body work and completion. The shop went out of business shortly after they received the car. They only got to paint and installed new front and rear windows. The car has been sitting in storage ever since that time. We have so many other cars and projects we have never got around to finishing this one. The cost for the engine work alone was 5k in 1994 with the rest of the work totaling more than my buy it now. Engine is the original 390 with carter 4bbl with 3 speed auto. The engine has never been fired since the rebuild.

This a very solid and rust free 59 Caddy, with exception of some surface rust coming through in spots. The paint will have to be redone in my opinion, it looks good from a few feet away but has imperfections and some surface rust coming through. The floors and trunk are as good as when they left the factory, no issues there. The only thing I can tell is missing is the radiator, I don't know what happened to it. I will call this caddy 99% complete as there may be  something that might be missing, and I didn't notice. There are some trim pieces needing work, i.e. small dents or slightly bent.

Chrome is good for a driver but you would want to rechrome for show. The interior will of course need replacing. Car comes with complete new rubber weather stripping. The carb as you can see in the picture should be gone over again as it has been sitting for so long. The yellow wires were a joke that was played on my father and so we just left them there. They are not correct as you know.

This Caddy will be a show piece when done, just send her to the paint shop, order a new int and put her back together, do some detailing and fire her up. She is a factory Dover White car with AC, pwr windows, pwr brakes, pwr seat, and autronic eye.

You will see in the pictures below just how solid she is, the chassis has got dust, spider webs, and some bolts and nuts that were not painted have surface rust from sitting in storage. Also the air cleaner is included, it just wasn't in the pics.

She has a clear FL title and will need to be hauled, and I would suggest enclosed carrier if at all possible.
