1983 CADILLAC ELDORADO I was planning on restoring this vehicle because of the white on white combo that I absolutely love and the motor being in such good condition. Overall the vehicle is in decent condition. Unfortunately I don't have the time any longer to devote to my cars and need to move a few of them. I sold the mint 1991 Eldorado, will keep the 1992 Coupe Deville, and will sell this 1983 Eldorado in this auction to the highest bidder. REMEMBER there is no reserve. POSITIVE POINTS I have had this vehicle for about 5 years, it is in fair to good condition and very reliable transportation. It always starts, no oil leaks, or does it burn oil. The air condition blows cold with no leaks. It has a new head liner with no blemishes. The exhausts are about 2 years old. Front tires are about 80% and rear tires are about 40%. Includes a removable AM/FM CD player. The trunk motor is still working as is the power windows and door locks. Other than the driver's seat the rest of the seats are in excellent condition, with no discoloration. The paint is still OK with little spots of rust, but still gets lots of looks. NEGATIVE POINTS 1. The transmission does show signs of slipping now and then and I would recommend this car for local traveling only, however, I did commute from Long Island, NY to Springfield, MA (157 miles) regularly without issues. 2. The back plastic bumper cover is pretty much shot. I have white tape holding together what is left so at some point it will need to be replaced. The assembly is available on ebay for around $100-$150. 3. The motor on the driver's seat is bad so I ended up having the seat bolted in place. I am about 6' tall so there is plenty of leg room. However, if you are shorter you will need to re-position the seat or have the motor replaced. 4. There is a small exhaust leaking coming from the engine area that the mechanic suggested I live with as it will not impair the performance of the vehicle and would be costly to repair. It is noticeable in the cold weather, and NOT noticeable in warmer weather, due to the expansion of the engine block in warm weather. 5. The antenna motor is broken an the antenna needs to be replaced as well. Both are very inexpensive to replace.
