The original owner bought this 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible (VIN: 6L67S5Q415735) new on March 18, 1975 from Rogers Cadillac Inc. in Knoxville, Tenn. by Mary & Greeley Staudt of Union City, Indiana. Greeley kept it until Richard Stoner brought it from him in 1981. Richard is still its current owner. The vehicle’s odometer reads 68,734 miles - which are the original miles. Vehicle original paper works still with car (see pictures). Owners manual, invoice and warranty. There are also records showing service work and maintenance records.
The original Bombay Yellow paint is excellent showing virtually no damage. The paint on the door jams, inner fender wells, trunk jambs, etc is consistent with the exterior paint. The white strip is also the original. WOW!! The car has been continuously maintained and remains in excellent condition today.
The interior is also in excellent condition. The white leather seats show no signs of dryness, cracking or damage. There are no tears or wear spots on any of the seats. The glass is all original with no signs of cracks or chipping. The convertible top is original and remains in excellent condition. The only damage I could find are few splits on the driver’s door panel (I believe there were three – please see pictures) and a couple of spots on the underside (again please see pictures)
Mechanically, the car has been continuously maintained since new. The car runs and drives superbly-as a near new vehicle should-with no apparent problems in any of the driveline components. All of the accessories including the air conditioner are in good, working order. The vehicle is equipped with all of the typical factory options available on the 1975 Eldorado models such as air conditioning, power top and seats, power brakes, power steering, power windows, AM/FM radio etc. Inside the trunk remains the original bag for the Parade Boot.
The VIN number on this vehicle is 6L67S5Q415735. When this number was decoded the following information is found: The first number 6 indicates that the Cadillac division of General Motors built it. The second symbol L indicates that it is an Eldorado. The next two symbols 6 and 7 indicate that it is a two-door convertible. The symbol S indicates that it is a 500 CID V-8 engine. The symbol 5 indicates the 1975 model year. The symbol Q indicates it was built at the Detroit, Michigan plant. The last six digits show the sequence that the car was built.
Overall, this is an outstanding, well-preserved original vehicle. The value of this vehicle not only lies in its rarity and desirability as one of Cadillac’s last convertibles but in its original condition as well. Original vehicles such as this example are extremely desirable amongst large collectors and museums as they clearly represent how a particular vehicle appeared when it was new and are often viewed as educational artifacts to show others how to properly restore a vehicle. Restorations can be duplicated again and again, but vehicles are original only once.
This vehicle is being sold as-is and where-is with no guarantees or warranties either expressed, written or implied.
If you have any questions about this vehicle, or would like to come and view/inspect/drive it, please contact Richard Stoner at 765-964-3482. Car is located in Union City, Indiana. I’m selling this for my uncle (Richard Stoner) and will try to answer any questions I can by email, however the best thing would be to call him.
