hi guys and gals, this is a 1956 cadillac fleetwood i bought a few monthes ago and just dont have time for. here is what i know about the car. it was parked beside a house in 1975 and was later traded to a guy in the early 80's for some engine repair on another car. the gentleman who then recieved towed it to his house and never touched it until i found it. the car is all there. the motor seems like someone was taking the intake off maybe for a gasket repair or for head gaskets i am nto sure. the motor is locked up but i do have marvel mystery oil soaking in it. the motor has oil in it to the full line on the dip stick and the transmission has fluid in it also. the motor oil looks milky like a blown head gasket would but on the other hand it hasnt had a carb on it in 30 years so you make your own judgement on that. the carb, ac compressor, ac condensor, radiator and hub caps are all in the trunk. this car doesnt seem to be missing any ac parts. all the parts are still in the trunk best i can tell and the front switch panel is still there. i do not have keys to the door or igntion. we cut a key off the glovebox but it didnt match. the car originally had seat covers hog ringed over the factory interior which has since been removed by me because it was so bad. the front seat bottom still has the seat cover on it. the floor boards and original carpet are there. the car is very dry rotted. the floor boards are there but they soft. i havent looked really hard but the only rust in the floor i have found is in the spare tire well hole and back by the trunk lid seal area. the front fenders do have the usual rust out at the bottom and the passenger rear quarter panel is rusted out behind the wheel pretty good. the car seems to be all there.the rear drivers door does have a bad dent in it but is very fixable and still opens and closes perfectly.
i got all 4 doors opening and closing, the car does roll and the tires will hold air to get it on a trailer. the spare tire is there. the emergency brake still works also. the transmission does engage and disengage when put in and out of gear. the car comes with tons of paperwork i found including a receipt for having the tranmission rebuilt in 1965 and anothe receipt which if i read correctly the motor was rebuilt in 1964 but i am not sure i understand the motor one. there is no title to the car but you can get one for $150.00 through a company i can put you on to. i will give a bill of sale. the car is suppost to be a one owner car according to the guy i bought it from as he never titles it. the only problem was he lost the title. i have the name of the original owner on that paper work from the car but i am not sure if he could be found or is even alive for that matter. it would be better to get a new title for $150.00.
this car is a great start for a restoration or for putting a motor in it and driving it the way it sits (that was my plan).
the car can stay here up to 30 days as long as you discuss it with me. any longer than that and i will have to charge storage fees $50.00 a month. I DO NOT WANT TO STORE IT THOUGH :) besides all that the usual non refundable deposit of $500.00 due with in 48 hours payment due within 7 days of end of auction paid in full. the car cannot be stored here with payment in full. i will try to help load as best i can but you need to bring some extra hands as this car is not light to load. happy bidding, got any other questions i will try to answer them.
