It’s virtually a new car!! I knew the owner and have seen this car. It is spectacular!! It’s ready to go as is or with a different set of wheels you have a resto-mod. If bling is you thing add a set of Dubs.
The owner, who worked for a major insurance company, purchased this car as a light strip, front clip and doors were removed. He worked on it for ten years before it hit the road.
Here is the story:
1979 Cadillac Eldorado owned and customized by Gordon Smith. Sleek contours with hidden door releases, no external handles. Cadillac “Canyon Gold” 3 stage with 5 coats Pearl. 44,000 actual miles. Original factory motor – 350 “Olds” fuel injection. Front wheel drive. Interior is from a 1982 Caddy and in perfect condition.

HISTORY
Ø Gordon was a body repairman, painter in the 60s, before spending 35 years in the insurance industry. Because of his love for automobiles he always had a “project” to work on . He purchased this car in 1982. The car had been stolen and some of the bolt on sheet metal was removed as well as the interior. The drive train and the rest of the car was undamaged.{I have supporting pictures}.The interior came from a new 82 model with 5,000 miles and it still looks “showroom”
This is truly a beautiful car that looks, runs and rides better than new
BODY CHANGES
Ø Vinyl Roof removed
Ø Chrome mirrors removed; Custom mirrors fabricated.
Ø All chrome and nameplates removed
Ø Hood and trunk lid emblems and key locks removed
Ø Rear bumper fabricated to resemble late model “STS” 4 exhaust outlet
Ø Both bumpers dipped and painted same color as body
Ø Bumpers still have rubber inserts for protection also painted same color with contrasting stripe
Ø Door handles and locks removed {shaved} doors now open with push button key bob. Also has mechanical backup
Ø All metal work done “old world method”, using lead as filler.
INTERIOR
Ø Replaced in 1982 with a 1982 Cadillac interior, it’s brand new!
Ø Cadillac standard options, PS, PDB, PW, 6 way seats, AM/FM, new speakers.
Ø All new weather-stripping
Ø New windshield
MECHANICAL
Ø 350 cu.in. fuel injected motor and drive train all original with 44,000 actual miles
Ø Engine compartment custom detailed
Ø Hubs machined to fit late model Cadillac 16” aluminum wheels with new 215x60 16 Goodrich touring tires.
Ø 4 wheel disc brakes,
Ø Custom dual exhaust
Ø New Shocks
Ø This car has less than 500 miles since completion.
PAINT & BODY
Ø 2000 hours in fabrication, preparation and paint.
Ø Late model Cadillac “Canyon Pearl” base coat clear coat.
Ø Paint is perfect.
AWARDS
Ø 1ST PLACE 2001 Rubber City Motorama, also separate award for “Best Paint” at the same show.
Several other awards and trophies from smaller shows. Again, car only driven less than 500 miles since it was painted. Still in show condition or can be a daily driver.
