Offered here, is a solid 1957 Corvette. This car has had a cosmetic restoration approximately 20 years ago: Paint, upholstery, etc. It was never a body-off restoration. The current owner is an avid car collector with a beautiful collection. He states the car has a solid rust free frame. A new 283ci V/8 w/ 270hp built by Engines Limited in Osh Kosh, WI, was recently installed. The owner states the engine (w/only 200 miles), has the correct casting numbers on the block which is 2 months before the build date.....so this is the correct engine for the car. A new clutch was installed at that time also. Plus, the twin carbs are the correct units for the vehicle. A rare, factory power convertible top is installed in the car. A hard top in good condition is included with this sale.
An aftermarket radio/cassette player has been installed (the original is missing). The car has a Mallory distributor. The owner has the original unit (w/the correct numbers), that needs rebuilding and it comes with this sale. All gauges work with exception of the clock. Almost new tires are mounted.
If you are seeking a solid, very collectable and sought after '57 Corvette, this is a fine example. It is not a show car, but a very nice survivor. Paint shows some age. Chrome is very presentable.
