This is a well maintained 1988 6.2L Diesel 1 ton. The 9' bed has an electric hoist, removeable sides, and grain chutes on the two-way tailgate. I used this truck in my landscaping business and it worked great for hauling pallets of bricks and gravel. The grain chutes work great for dumping right into wheelbarrows and you can load/unload pallets with the removeable sides. The engine runs great and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The engine is a Detroit Diesel crate engine. It's a later model (1992) 6.2L which has been much more reliable than a lot of other 6.2's out there. By '92 GM had the bugs worked out of the 6.2. This engine pulls strong, and I would have no second thoughts about taking a long distance trip in this vehicle. It will cruise down the highway at 70 mph no problem. It also gets about 16-18 miles per gallon!! This truck has massive springs and is licensed for 15k GVW. I used this truck every day in the summer and put about 8,000 miles on it every year. Some recent work and parts I've put into this truck include: all new front brakes and lines, master cylinder (brakes work great!), rear tires, water pump, exhaust, starter, fuel tank, shocks, hydraulic hoist for dump bed, and many others. The interior dash lights do not work, the right side fuel gauge, the door locks do not work, and the front tires should be replaced soon- I will throw on two new tires if the "buy it now" price is met. The frame is in great shape for an '88, solid with only minor surface rust. The body has some rust and dents, it's a work truck.
This truck also has a heavy duty hitch and electric trailer brakes.
I've described this truck to the best of my knowledge, but I may have missed some things. Please ask questions before bidding!
