Vehicle Description

This 68 truck was purchased new by my grand father. He used it for occasional trips to his cabin and stored it in his garage. The milage is original and the pictures show it is unrestored and in very good condition. I have the Pennsylvania title which shows the milage was 19,208 in 1987. It passed from him to my father in 2000, then to me in 2008. This vehicle is 99% original with the obvious exception of the Corvette Ralley wheels and tires. (the original wheels, tires and hub caps are included) It had routine maintenance from the time it was purchased. The tires, muffler and battery have been replaced since 2000. Notice that even some of the hose clamps appear to be factory. I would drive this truck across the country it runs like new.

As you can see the body is in great condition. Check out the straight body and well preserved bed. This truck is a Camper Special which gives it a unique chrome rear bumper with no hitch. This truck has never pulled a trailor nor carried heavy loads. Also note that the bright work (trim) is complete and in near perfect condition. There is no body damage except for a small ding in the passengers fender and a little rust under the door as well as some surface rust on the outside of the bed. It needs paint as you can see, but I wanted to offer it this way to show it's true condition.

The interior is exceptional. Look at the clarity on the gauge lenses and the near perfect dash pad. The seat has no rips and looks new. It still has the radio delete cover, seat belts, floor mat, pedal pads, window cranks and everything should clean up very well. (there is a little surface rust on the drivers door where your arm would hang out the windows) Everything works; horn, lights, turn signals, wipers, heater etc.

These 67-72 trucks are some of the best looking, most sought after street trucks. Anyone looking to restore or customize one of these trucks will find this one to be a very solid foundation.

This truck is regestered in Alabama, which does not issue titles for vehicles made before 1975. The purchaser will receive the registration from Alabama and a Bill of Sale. Check with your state for regestration details.

The engine is a 250 cubic inch inline six cylinder one barrel carb. The transmission is a three speed column shift. The rear axel is a 12 bolt and the ratio is 3.50-ish (counting driveshaft turns). It has manual steering and manual drum brakes. This truck is very solid. The doors shut and lock properly, the windows roll up and down smoothly and the shifter and steering are very tight. The glass is in great condition (the windshield has some "fogging" around the edges) and all the gauges work. It even has an interior light.

I do not know if the Camper Special is an "official" package. Here is the list of options from the service tag in the glove compartment;
