1982 S10 STREET / STRIP / SHOW
This is a real nice example of a V8 swap into a S10 pickup. The engine is a 350 which is out of a 1969 Camaro that was rebuilt with the addition of a mild cam about 15,000 miles ago. The engine has the following upgrades; a dual carb setup with two 400cfm edelbrock carbs, billet aluminum pulleys, electric fans, racing aluminum radiator, a K&N air filter, and heddman ceramic coated headers, the engine also has multiple billet accesories all over it for a show quality look. The cam is mild and gives the truck a nice lope at idle. The exhaust is a dual 2 1/2 inch with two flowmaster 40 series mufflers which are left under the truck before the rear axle. The transmission is a brand new TH350 TCI Super Street Fighter which only has around 500 miles on it, the original was replaced due to a leak in the front pump. The kickdown cable on the transmission is not hooked up, I feel that the power to weight ratio is a little far off to let it shift down hard and lose control. The cable is ran from the transmission to under the hood and just needs to be attached to the carb to work, but I just never hooked it up because it is fine without it. The truck does NOT have power brakes, but due to its weight they are really not needed. The rear end gears are a 4.10 posi.
The paint is a few years old but still looks new, the color is Victory Red. The battery is mounted in the bed to get a cleaner look under the hood. The bed has a tonneau cover and a rubber bed mat to keep things clean.
The body is mostly stock with the exception of a 2 1/2 cowl hood, shaved tailgate handle, and a rollpan. The headlights have also been converted to H4, which means that the bulb is replaced not the housing. The rims are Cragars with Kumho Venture tires. 215/70R15 on the front and 275/60/R15 on the rear. the tread on all the tires is still very good.
The interior has the original bench seat, B&M floor shifter, Grant steering wheel, the 3 pillar mount gauges with the tach mounted above the pillar, a pioneer cd player with kickpanel speakers and high powered speakers behind the seat to achieve good sound quality while cruising.
The speedometer does NOT work, the cable needs to be replaced. I use the tachometer to gauge my speed.
I am NOT the original owner, I am the second owner. The owner before me was the one who built it and it took him about 4yrs to complete.
Overall this is a very clean example of a V8 swap that is sure to turn heads.
