  Up for sale is the legendary Lead Sled owned and raced by Tom Akin in the 60s and 70s. This car was 1 of 5 Dick Harrell team cars. This car was ordered through Schukei Chevrolet by John Day, the dealer's performance manager. The car was ordered with a rare L72 427/425 option turbo 400 automatic and a 12- bolt rear end some of the other options was the F41 suspension, power steering and power front discs. The Lead Sled is completely original, unrestored condition, having spent the last thirty years with the same owner in Iowa. The Dover White paint still wears the later multi-colored graphic panels along with alot of the original signage. The interior is original and in still has the mandated lap belt

  Few historic drag cars have as much supporting documentation as this one: such factory items as the warranty plate and booklet are accompanied by an expansive volume of materials that includes Tom Aken's AHRA membership card and 1970 National Champion plaque, magazine articles and advertisements, a 12.91 second time slip from the 1971 AHRA winternationals, a 1972 fleer bubblegum card, and signed correspondence from sponsors also letters from Jim Tice and  "Mr. Chevrolet"  himself Dick Harrell. There are 5 display boards with all this info plus alot more.
