| | Vehicle Description |
| I have bought and sold several vehicles on ebay along with many other items. This one I hate to see go. My parents bought this truck brand new in 1988. It was their "special" vehicle and was mainly used for their trip into "town" every several weeks to have dinner out! It was not used as a truck. My son has had it the last several years and has used it as his daily driver back and forth to school, and for car shows on the weekends during the summers. I listed the truck as a one owner, but perhaps I should have called it a one family owner because the title is now in my name. Here are the amazing details of this truck:With the exception of the cowl induction hood and the rear roll pan (aftermarket sheetmetal), you are looking at the ORIGINAL 20 year old metallic black paint (a unique factory color). The truck has never been crashed. The truck has ZERO rust except for one very small dime size spot starting at the passenger cab corner. That is it. There are some very light surface nicks here and there, but the panels are very straight and original. The truck shows VERY nicely. 350 TBI, Automatic Trans, 1/2 ton long bed truck. It would make a GREAT hot rod shop truck or a daily driver/show truck.83,000 ORIGINAL miles (about 4,000 miles per year since new!!!Valve seals were dry so we had the heads completely rebuilt and added headers (and deleted the cat and smog pump, if that matters in your state).Nice original interior with some light defects here and there, but overall very presentable and nice. It is AMAZINGLY nice for a 20 year old truck!Nice Extang Black Max clamp on tonneau cover with polished black snaps (not the cheap ones you can buy at Walmart or Meijer). The truck is lowered 6" with a "C" notch and Flip kit in the back. The front is lowered with 2" drop spindles and 3" coil springs for a total 5" drop in the front. It is aligned with the correct kit and drives well. It rides like it did when new, extremely well.BF Goodrich 275-60-15 and 235-60-15 tires are in very good condition. It has factory Stainless trim rings and Astro custom center caps. The custom pinstriping is hand done with paint by a local striping artist and could be removed by the new owner if preferred. The red stripes down the side are just vinyl and could also be removed if desired. The original AC compressor was squealing last fall. We replaced it and have a new accumulator and a few other parts, but have not yet had it recharged. It should work great with a charge. One shop quoted us $45 plus freon to convert it to the new style AC.THE TRUCK IS NOT PERFECT. There are some minor issues (like a tailgate handle bezel that has become missing, a small crack in part of the grill and some other minor problems here and there), but I would say the truck is in amazing condition compared to most trucks 10 or more years newer than this one!!! It would be very difficult to find another like this and also very difficult to find a comparable vehicle for our "Buy it Now" price, or the lower "Reserve" price. The truck is being driven and enjoyed every day so expect just a few more miles on it before the end of the auction. If you want it, I suggest you click "Buy it Now" and end the auction before someone else does!!!Please do not bid if you are not serious though. It is expensive to list an auto on ebay. Over and above everything else, I want you to be very comfortable buying a car from our family. If you have ANY questions about this vehicle, please do not hesitate to ask, or better yet I would encourage you to come view the vehicle before bidding. You can send me a message through ebay or call me through the work week 8-5 pm eastern daylight savings time at 765-449-8851 extension 149 (Bob) I would be happy to give you a very honest description of this amazing truck or set up an appt for you to see it in person. Selling locally as well, so reserving right to end auction early. First $4,250 takes it!Happy Bidding! On May-11-08 at 09:34:17 PDT, seller added the following information:I just noticed that the interior picture did not load for some reason (probably because one of the pictures loaded twice). Anyway, the inside is in nice original condition. The factory radio has been replaced with an aftermarket one which is in fair condition. There are 4 aftermarket speakers and a small sub under the seat. Also a billet/leather steering wheel. Door panels, seat, etc are in nice shape. There are some minor cracked/broken plastic pieces up around the roof area. They don't detract from the fact that the interior is NICE. Just trying to be as honest as possible. Here is a link to the interior pictures. Please take a look if you are interested.http://public.fotki.com/HotRodChevyTruck/

On May-16-08 at 09:24:49 PDT, seller added the following information:I wanted to add a small detail to the auction. I noticed that the outside drivers side door lock is not unlocking the door. The other side works in and out. The drivers side works on the inside only. I replaced the outside door handle on that side about a year ago, so I am assuming the rod has fallen off, but do not have time to mess with it. Just trying to be as truthful as possible regarding this auction so there are no dissapointments... Thanks for all of your views (well over 2000!!!) and your bids. It looks like this truck is going to have a new owner on Saturday. Happy Motoring!! --Bob (Redlinetoys) |
