1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible!

This Roman Red Beauty was restored several years ago and shows well for wins at local shows, but no trailer queen here, this desirable Super Sport was built to be driven!

The Body and Paint work was professionally done and the single stage urethane Roman Red is beautifully deep and the shine reflects the expert prep work needed to make this expanse of sheetmetal straight and smooth!!Although not the original color, the Roman Red was chosen because it highlights the sporty lines of this hot looking '62 droptop.Some of the work includes new quarter skins,fender skirts,Floor braces front and rear(frame is fine,the floor pans needed changing due to water leaks over the years)All chrome has been replated, and many new mouldings have been installed. There are a still few mouldings and trim pieces that would need to be replaced if you are seeking perfection, however,this Automobile presents nicely as is.The top of the grille is missing one of the "teeth", see pics.All of the weatherstrips, glass channels,vertical seals,felts, and the Convertible Top were replaced after the paint work.All of the glass is good. The windshield is a new replacement.The windows roll fine, and the black top fits and functions great!

The Bucket seat interior was also restored with classic black and features original style chrome piping.The seat padding was also redone to provide new car comfort. New Red carpets. It has an original console and SS grab bar. The radio was replaced with a modern AM/FM and CD changer (in trunk)

The engine is a replacement 327,believed to have come from a Corvette. However,this car was originally equipped with a 327 powerplant, along with Power Steering and Power Brakes. It runs strong and features electronic ignition,and a powerful sounding dual exhaust system! The Tranny is the original type troublefree 2 speed Powerglide that performs as smooth as silk.

This '62 is a true Super Sport from day one, and while not a concours or frame off restoration, it drives and shows well. This is a great car to enjoy as is, or take it to the next level, it represents a great investment, as this was Chevrolets finest hour, truly a beautifully designed car that will always be a timeless classic!
