Bought a new Dodge for daily transport, so something has to go. Decided to part with my 56 and keep my 42. Here a few of the stats on the 56.
1956 1/2 Ton Stepside, licensed, titled and registered in the State of Louisiana. Daily driven. Mechanicals are in excellent shape. Ready for final body work to make perfect.
Freshly professionally rebuilt 350 SBC with full length headers, backed by TH350 rebuilt A/T. Engine still under warranty. Has Summit 1102 cam with brand new Performer 600 cfm carb with electric choke. New MSD Electronic Distributor. Tachometer. New driveshaft. 2.73 posi-rearend (still will spin tires and gets much better gas mileage) with all new rear drum brakes from 79 Camaro. Has 1979 Z-28 Camaro front clip, with all new power front disc brakes, power steering, new steering centerlink. New Chrome one-wire alternator, new battery, new starter, all new American Autowire Highway 15 Series wiring installed. Tilt Steering column from 76 Pickup, rebuilt professionally prior to installation. Rebuilt Speedometer, new cable and gears. Good tires 235/70/R15's on 5 lug pattern. Have set of big-block front springs, or leave it low as it is. 95 Suburban seats with aftermarket center console. New cab interior gas tank with sender. Radiator good (recently checked and repaired by professional shop, and had 3/4 inch tubes) and cooled by 3500 cfm electric fan with shroud. A/C installed - just needs hoses and charging.
Needs sanding and paint. Right now it has a brushed on paint job that is a 20 footer. Keeps the rust from appearing and still gets nods on highway. I also have two front fenders that go with the truck with the lower patch panels. Bed is solid and has a 3/16" steel diamond plate insert. Bed has bedliner applied. New toolbox in rear. Glass is all good except vent windows. Tinted green. All new seals in windows. Have new door seals to be installed.
Truck drives good and is ready for your final touches. Hard work is done. Truck is located in Greenwood, LA., just outside of Shreveport on I-20 at the Texas state line.
