1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Car was recently serviced, inspected and has met Texas state inpection requirements.
This gorgeous Z28 is powered by a strong 350 cubic inch V8 engine (not original, car was originally a 305 car), with a recently new alternator, 600cfm Edelbrock carburetor, more recently replaced head assemblies (and top-end gaskets). I have the receipts from the shop available. It also has Hooker headers and a few chrome dress-up pieces. The car is a factory Air Conditioned car but the equipment has been removed. This car has true dual exhaust.
The transmission is a Jasper (Muncie) M-21 4 speed manual transmission, installed just a few weeks ago along with new clutch assembly. The rearend is a 4:56 Posi (according to the previous owner). Due to the non-standard rear gearing, the speedometer reads fast by 10-15 mph at local highway speeds. At the time of the recent work, the motor mounts and transmission mount were also replaced. No cutting corners on any work.
This car is silver and was painted in 2005. Paint is probably a 7-8 out of 10. It has the gray/charcoal decal set and overall the car is very striking. The cowl opening operates properly (solenoid controlled by throttle position). Wife and I get the "thumbs up" whenever we take it out cruising around town. Interior is black but needs refreshing. The seats should be re-upholstered and the carpet is not an original style molded piece. There is no stereo system. Rear seatbelts are correct, front driver is a lap-belt only not mounted in factory provisions...passenger belt not installed but is included with the car. This has been a gradual labor of love but a boat is now my mistress.
This is a fantastic car and I would rather keep it for a long time since the value has been climbing so fast and frankly the car is a ton of fun to drive and turns heads everywhere we go. I have to let it go since we got a boat...I'd use the Z28 but it has no fishing rod holders and I don't think it would float.
This is NOT a show-quality car, photos show three paint issues- two on the nose piece and one along the edge of the hood cowl. I have photos showing each area. I am hiding nothing about the vehicle. Two typical things for Camaros- the console lid and driver door pull are needing replaced they are both present but not in like-new condition, however the door panels were replaced about a year ago.
I have two "diamond cut" replacement headlamps that take replacable bulbs like more modern cars and have blue highlights to give a bluish cast to the beams. Also I have two new chrome front engine compartment strut bars...these are all included but not intstalled.
Do your homework! These cars are going up in value at a tremendous rate. This is a factory 4-speed car that is very nice, again...not perfect but nice. Email if you need more information.
Look over all of the photos...I'm hiding nothing. Email with any questions you may have. I'm happy to answer whatever you throw at me. Please don't wait until the last second to ask questions.
Car is for sale locally, driven frequently and I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally.
Best wishes to all of you and God Bless the U.S.A.
