This car had to be relisted due to a deadbeat winner. all attempts at contact failed. Now anyone wishing to bid with 0 feedback must contact me prior to bidding, or I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID. Up for your consideration is a 1987 Chevy Caprice Brougham. I bought this car for a set of wheels while I rebuilt the engine in my wifes Suburban, and it lasted 'til one week after I got the Suburban going, and then did, I believe, the same thing the Suburban did prior to the rebuild, blew a head gasket. I drove it home from work, and in a 5 mile drive it sucked up a gallon of coolant, without a trace--The oil is not over full and it is clean insomuch as it is due for an oil change, so it is pretty black, but does not appear to be contaminated. It also did not leave a cloud of fog behind me as I drove, so I don't know where it went, but it is gone, and I made it home, it lost power, dogged down. It will probably start and run right now, but it doesn't have enough power to pull itself. You put it in gear, and there is nothing there capable of moving it. I haven't pulled a plug, and can tell you very little beyond what I have. It is a 305 4BBL, it is the new style engine with the center bolt valve covers, and it has a factory aluminum 4BBL intake. The car is equipped with tilt, cruise, air, Power Windows, Door Locks, AM/FM Cassette, Power Drivers Seat, and it has the big plushy pillow-top seats that are in very good shape. It is reading 43,XXX miles, I presume it's been around once, but I can't imagine it's been around twice. The front header panel is cracked through, I have it in the pictures. beyond that, the body is clean. The rear quarters are rusted through behind the rear wheels under the stainless lower body trim. I got it with no hubcaps, but I have found a set of wire wheel hubcaps for it I would send along with it. I just never installed them because I only have one retainer for them. I was still looking for three more. The rear tires are nearly new. It has a good full size spare, and the fronts are decent. There is no jack or tire iron with it. I am starting this auction at Scrap Value, with no Reserve. Bid to own, high bidder gets it. It is going to need to be trailered/dollied from here. It will not drive. This vehicle is being sold for parts or repair, and is not operational. Therefore, upon purchase, it will need to be either towed or put on a trailer. I do have good clear title to this car.
On Apr-26-08 at 10:14:42 PDT, seller added the following information:Sorry for the delay, folks. I couldn't find the other battery or charger for my camera. I finally got some photos taken of the interior, as you can see, it is in pretty good shape, save the headliner, I had to staple it up, and one of my kids tore a hole in the rear. I also took a photo of the engine bay, and the last two new photos are of the (1.) Dipstick, as you can see, the oil is dirty, needs to be changed, but is not milky, and the (2.) is the Transmission dipstick, same thing. I had a question on this car, wondering if possibly the transmission sucked up the coolant, and, honestly, I hadn't even thought of that until then. It doesn't appear as though it did. It is reading over full, but had since I got the car, and appears clean, as you can see.
I appreciate everyones interest. Pass along any questions you may have, I'll get 'em answered as soon as possible.
