History: I bought this El Camino in 1995. It served as my daily driver for MANY years. Lately it has just been sitting and I have decided to sell it to somebody that can spend some time on it and make it something nice.

I have no idea how many miles are on this El Camino, I have put at least 150K on it. The Current Engine has around 70K miles.

Rear Axle: 8.5" GM 10 Bolt. Factory 3.73 Limited Slip. These are getting VERY Difficult to find.. From a G-Body Olds 442. Same as the GN 8.5" except for the gearing. Aluminum GM rear brake Drums Rear brake shoes are pretty recent.
Interior: Blue Interior Old dash is destroyed due to Radio theft. BRAND NEW New Old Stock GM Blue Dash. I bought this YEARS ago and have been keeping it in climate controlled storage ever since. These have been obsolete from GM for many years now. 2" dual gauge pod on A-Pillar Monte Carlo SS Trim around gauges & passenger Dash. 2 brand new in box Monte Carlo SS Radio trim pieces. These are for the large double DIN radios. Two new power window motors. Driver side is installed, Passenger side is not. I pulled pass door panel to install and never did. Fresh Exterior side window felts. REMAN fresh and in box A/C Compressor and Dryer Functional Cruise.. New GM cruise / turn signal stalk
Exterior: Paint is old and need of work. I had it painted in 1995 and it is showing it's age. NO rust save a small spot around 3/8" dia near the rear window. Paint is bubbled near the middle of the drivers side door. This is not rust.. the paint lifted the day after it was painted and hasn't changed since. Drivers front Fender is destroyed. The Drivers side front wheel came off and crushed the fender. The Door was not damaged. The fender was the extent of the damage. This is a TEXAS car.. NO rust besides the mentioned spot on rear window. The two years I lived in Michigan, the truck was garage and out of the salt. Chrome and glass is in good shape. All of the trim is intact, but not perfect.
Now for the Bad - What it needs: Drives Front Fender and Inner Fender. Paint. Hood isn't very nice. It wasn't in great shape when I put it on years ago. A good fiberglass hood would be the way to go. Speedo gear. The gear in the trans is for the old 2.41 gears I ran. With the 3.73s the speedo is WAY off.. A/C is INOP. I am including a fresh Reman compressor and new dryer with the truck. After I put the headers on, the engine has a lean backfire at part throttle. Need to mess with LT1 edit to richen it up a bit to compensate for the headers. After the swap to the 3.73 gears, the trans shifting is not quite right. Need to play with LT1 edit to re calibrate. Needs a new driveshaft. It was smooth with the 2.41 gears, seems to vibrate with the 3.73s at 65-70 MPH. Needs a nicer, balanced driveshaft.
Overall, this is a VERY solid El Camino which will make somebody a great project without too much work. The New GM Dash, 8.5" 10 Bolt and Jet Hot headers are worth $2500 on their own.
Truck is being sold where-is and as-is. Note that I will make NO promise that this truck will pass Texas or any other state's emissions testing. I have passed the IM240 chassis dyno testing in the past with this engine but I will in no way guarantee that it will pass. I will make any Texas buyers sign a statement that passing emissions testing is the buyer's responsibility, not mine. Note that this vehicle will be Emissions exempt in 2010... it will be 25 years old.
Truck is certainly capable of a short trip in the Houston area, but I would not drive it extended distances without checking the belts, hoses, etc. It's been sitting for a few years.
Payment. I expect a $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours. Balance to be paid within a week. Cash is best. Cashiers Check I will reserve the right to allow time for the check to clear before turning over the vehicle and the title. Too many cashiers check scams out there.
I will not arrange shipping but will set aside time to meet your shipping company to drop off the vehicle.
If you have any questions drop me an email and I will be glad to answer.
No reserve. The price you see is what it will sell for.
I will be adding more info to this ad over the next 10 days.
