Vehicle Description

Where do I begin???  This is my boyfriend's BABY, (Yes, I was a car widow for almost a year) and we hate to see it go, but times are tough and we have no choice.  He bought this car in August 2006 and wanted it to be his project car.  Or his "summer car" if you will.   He put his blood, sweat, and tears into this and it's been nothing but the best ever since.

I will cover as much ground as possible, but if I miss anything, PLEASE ASK.  I don't want any unhappy bidders.  Mileage is exempt due to the age.

1985 Monte Carlo LS, not an SS.  It's a V8 and has 5.0 liter engine, and a 4 barrel carb.  It has power windows and a power driver's side seat.  Bench seat up front, and the interior is all navy blue.  Inspection is due 9/08.  Passed last year with flying colors.  He paid the $80 state fee or whatever and that's it.

Now I will list all the items purchased to fix up or maintain the car since it's been purchased.  He has spent $3500 on this car since he got it.  Our loss is your gain.  It may not be perfect cosmetically, but it runs great, and has all these new parts.

*Revised - we just found a stack of receipts we will include that show repairs to the car.

Four Chevy spoke hubcaps - $100

Four Camaro 15" wheels (see pics) - $125

Transmission replaced - $500

New catalytic converter - $250

New window sweeps for both doors - $100

New hi-performance muffler with two (not dual exhaust) split pipes - $225  (Put tips ($20) on pipes and they stick out behind back tires) Car is 4 times louder now.

Replaced dash - $300  The gauges stopped working and the back lights were very dim.  Now it's fine.

New antenna and rewired it - $20

New front shocks - $200

Wheel alignment (11/07) - $60

Floor mats - $40

Skull door lock knobs - $15

Replaced tail light - $15 from junkyard

Refurbished radiator (soldered and cleaned and drained) - $100

Rear window trim - $20

New alternator - $150

New lighter - $15   It didn't come with one

New black plastic bezel - $30   There was a big hole where the radio and lighter were supposed to be with wires everywhere  Bought this bezel, replaced the lighter, and put in a radio.

New calipers and brake pads on front (6 months old) - $100

Replaced chrome door panel and bought new clips to mount it - $30

New turn signal switch - $175

New O2 sensor - $25

New thermostat - $25

MANY, MANY trips to the junkyard - Priceless.

There may be more, we're still gathering receipts.  In addition to this, we did not include the tires that are on there which are still in great shape, oil changes, tools bought specifically to work on an older car, waxes and paint treatments, and other items we considered general maintenance.  This may seem like a lot of money, but remember, his goal was to restore this completely.

I think the car looks nice, but it may need a new paint job.  It's all one color and shiny and all, but we had someone look at it and they complained about the paint.  I don't know, I guess everyone's different, so I want you to know it may need to be re-painted.  There is a door handle missing on the inside of the passenger side door, not the one that shuts the door, the "Oh s#*t" handle.

The interior cloth is still in pretty good condition.  The trunk is huge, you could fit many bodies in there.  I love how the back seat has two ashtrays built into the front seat so you can avoid ash mess or cigarettes flying back in the car.

Fantastic heat did us well all winter.  Has washer fluid and everything and wipers are good.  It has a beast of an engine and runs fantastic.  This car's got a lot of balls.  It's such a sexy man car, too.

Nothing like being at a stop light and listening to your music and the light turns green and you hit the pedal and you hear it wail and look so bad ass.  I can see why he fell in love and it's very sad.

We want it to go to a good home.  Not some place where it will be massacred and sold for parts.  We've spent WAY too much money for that to happen.  She's done right by us and she will for you too,  I know it.  She's generally a fast car.  A little slow to start but get her on the highway and she won't want to slow down.

If there's ANYTHING I forgot, please feel free to ask.  I know on eBay people buy out of state, but for this cherry of a car, I think a test drive is necessary.  Roll down the windows and take her for a spin, you might not want to give her back.

Please note my feedback, I've been doing this a long time.  This is an amazing community we have built here and I do my best to keep it that way.  I don't have any other vehicles or parts or anything but feel free to check out my other items!

Car is sold as-is but I've been 100% honest about every detail and I will answer any question you have, plus we encourage you to drive it first.

On Apr-27-08 at 18:09:52 PDT, seller added the following information:

*Revised - Forgot to mention brand new 300 watt 4x10 speakers in the rear and new tiny front speakers.

Also, I'm very sorry, but wasn't aware that there is a screw in one of the Camaro tires.  It's still inflated but it will need to be repaired.  I would've mentioned it sooner.

On Apr-27-08 at 19:13:14 PDT, seller added the following information:

*Revised -Car has a slight problem in the front on the driver's side.  The person who owned it before hit something on the driver's side and pushed it up slightly over the fender.  I was told it could be fixed by loosening the bolts and pulling on it.  It's not bad, it only has to be moved about 1/8 of an inch.  And regarding the paint job, it's older and has some scratching and a chip or two.  There is a rust spot  in front of the rear wheels under the trim.  The passenger side has a tiny rust hole underneath the trim.  I'm sorry this wasn't added sooner.  But from the door we said we wanted you to know the truth.  I will add again if anything else comes up.
