61 Chevy Bel Air, 4-door post.
Car has the original 235 Blue Flame with a 2spd Power Glide tranny. Motor runs good and strong, but could use a tune-up. It has fresh plugs and fresh oil. I turned the car on once a week all winter and it cranked right up in sub zero weather. The car was kept in the garage. It also has a 1bbl carb off a 67 Chevelle that will need to be rebuilt or replaced, nonetheless it is functioning. The distributor will also need replacing. There is a glass pack on the car, so there is a bit of a rumble. Wipers work, lights work (except for turn signals and reverse), and gauges work. It also throws great heat, but there is no AC as the car was never equipped with it. The car has been converted to a 12 volt and has a fresh Diehard battery that is still under warranty from Sears. I also gave it a brand new radiator.
It is a drum drum set up all the way around with a single reservoir master. Brakes do work but I would do some adjusting or converting to a tandem.
(I just don't have the cash for that).
All the glass is on the car and there are no cracks.
The original radio is on the car but it is not hooked up. There is no speaker mounted but I do have it and it needs to be "repapered"/"reconed".
There are some rust issues and if you look at the pictures you can see them. The driver and front passenger floors DO NEED REPAIR, but not replacing. Other issues are in the regular spots where all these Chevies rusted.
Suspension in the rear (air shocks) is pretty good but it does need shocks and springs in the front, as well as alignment.
Bumpers are descent enough, but as usual, there are no valences.
There are no major dents on the car.
There are no door panels, headliner, turn signal lever, kick panels, or driver door armrest.
I did replace the old wheels with 14x6 steelies as opposed to 14x5.
Extra things that go with sale of the car are:
New ignition, and ignition switch with keys, new brake hardware, Original owners manual (mint), Original Shop manual, All the gaskets for a 235, front bumper brackets, and a few other things I can't remember.
I have tried my best to be honest about the description of the car and it would be great if the perspective buy were able to see it in person first.
What I ask of you is that if you bid on my car, that you ask questions first. I also ask that if you bid and win, that you please pay. I will ask for the payment to made in full thru Pay pal only. I can't accept any other form of payment. And I would like the payment to made no longer than 72 hours after the end of the auction. I will not be able to release the car until the entire payment has cleared my bank first. I hate to be this way but there are way to many non-serious bidders out there.
The car does have a clean and clear Illinois title.
Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
There is no warranty with this vehicle as it is being sold as is.
