Chevrolet : El Camino CLASSIC 79 CHEVY ELCAMINO V8 AT daily driver or restore NO RESV

You are looking at a 79 Elcamino. This car could be a cool daily driver or put some money in it and make a nice cruiser out of it. I’ll answer your first question……………. "is the frame good?". YES, the frame is solid. It hard to fine these cars with good frames. This is a good one and was never repaired. This Elcamino ended up on the back lot of a local used car lot. It hasn’t need registered since 2002. I put fresh gas in it, a new battery, and cleaned the plugs. She fired right up. Still drives nice. The brakes feel good and the car drives straight. No shakes or pulls. The motor is the original 305 2bbl w/ AT. The motor runs smooth but is no power house. (nothing was in 79). The A/C is all there and hooked up but it only blows hot air. I’d rate the appearance of the bumpers & trim, a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Everything is a little dull but still straight. Driver side front fender is good. Passenger side is solid but does have small dent near the top, (pictured). Driver side door is rusted but I have a solid door that goes with the car. Passenger side door is good (yes, even along the bottom). Driver side rocker panel has rust holes (pictured). Passenger side rocker is good. Driver side seat is torn. The rest of the interior is dull but not torn. Dash is cracked. Floor is solid. Driver side qtr panel is rusted in front on the rear wheel. The rest of the qtr is solid. Pass side qtr is straight & solid. Tail gate, gate opening & bed floor is very solid. Look………. it still holds water!!! I did notice the carpet is damp behind the seat so something leaks but what ever it is, it’s minor. The factory exhaust system & cat look fine. The windshield is cracked and needs replaced. HINT: If you get the windshield without the antenna (antenna sucks anyway), a glass company with replace this windshield for $175. I feel that for inspection, this car will only require and new windshield, a driver side mirror (you get one with the extra door I’m giving you) and 4 fresh tires. This car has a lot of potential and it is CHEAP. With a little work and a paint job, this is an $8000 car. If you are on a tight budget, you can drive this thing while you work on it.
