Family Cruiser, Hotrod in a tux, Sleeper VERY FAST 475+ Hp 440 4 barrel Period correct Chrysler Road Wheels, Factory Sure Grip differential (posi-traction), Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Seats, Original AM/FM Eight Track (functioning) Clear title. I am the third owner. Something of a barn find, this car had been sitting in my neighbor’s garage for over 10 years. Rolling it out with only 44,000 miles on the odometer was like rolling it out of a museum. I have spent the past 3 years doing upgrades to this car which include: New high performance 440 w/ less than 120 hours on new engine (metered) New front brakes including; calipers, rotors, brake linesNew Vacuum booster and master cylinderNew headliner (professionally installed) New ring and pinion and axle bearings (3.21)New radiator (not rebuilt) New Windshield wiper armature and drive motor Sun tachometerAutometer gaugesNew Pirelli tires (p235/75 R15’s)KYB Front ShocksMonroe Load Leveler Rear Shocks (brand new)Custom dual exhaust (welded) Turbo mufflers with resonators & chrome tipsMopar electronic ignition (orange box)Mini StarterAll new belts and hoses New batteryNew AC Compressor (reman)New headlights (hi and low beams) Engine DetailsPeriod correct 440 block +040 Stock stroke steel crankshaftKeith Black 9.5:1 hypereurtectic pistonsRebuilt factory rodsInternally balancedAll machine work, balancing and short block assembly by Promar Engines in Patterson, NJEdelbrock Performer RPM aluminum headsCometic MLS head gasketsEdelbrock Performer RPM intakeComp Cams valve trainXE275HL hydraulic cam (231/236 @ .050 / .525 lift)Pro Magnum LiftersPro Magnum Roller RockersSmith Brothers pushrodsHolley Street Avenger 870 Carburetor (re-jetted to #76 primaries)Moroso Blue Max 8.0 MM Spark Plug WiresTTI 2500 stall torque converterSchumacher Tri-Y headersAluminum Water Pump Entire engine was installed at a professional shop Many extra parts e.g. original engine (disassembled) Extra windshield wiper armature 2 Extra Road Wheels and trim rings 2 Spare tires Original aircleaner, Lean Burn Computer and Thermoquad carburetor Editorial I built this car to be fast and fun yet respectable enough to take to the office or church. The engine pulls like a freight train from 2000 RPM all the way up. According to the Comp Cams Cam Quest software, it should be producing approximately 480 HP at 5500 RPM and 521 FP Torque at 4000 RPM which “feels” about right. Have only had it up to 4000 RPM, but as you will see, there is a lot more after that. I haven’t run it at the track, but there are many embarrassed Mustang and rice rocket owners around town. The car is most impressive on the highway where it is really in its element. On the highway, you can go from 60 to 90 virtually instantly. Just open the secondaries and hang on. Even though it has headers, it is not loud. A trained ear will detect the cam at idle but the turbo mufflers backed by resonators keep things plenty quiet. The stock red interior is immaculate! I just replaced the headliner which was installed by a professional complete with high-tech heat insulation. The body is almost perfect. A few small dings and scratches but no rust. It has been garaged for over 15 years and has never seen salt or bad weather. The white vinyl top is original and perfect with no rips or damage of any kind. NOTE: This car is registered Historic in NJ which is exempt from state emissions inspection. As such it does not have catalytic converters installed. Check your local state emissions / registration requirements. Why am I selling the car? Funding for a new project. Over $5000 in engine alone. Known Issues Rear suspension could use a refresh – Just Suspension has all the parts. Just haven’t gotten to it yet. Speedometer reads 10 MPH faster than actual above 60 MPH. This due to the change in differential gear. A new speedo drive gear & cable have been ordered and may be installed by time of this posting. Fuel Gauge / Sending Unit – As most old Mopars, these need to be replaced. Have run connections for aftermarket gauge under dash. Electric Antenna – This recently stopped working. Motor runs but antenna does not move. Can be raised or lowered manually. Was planning to install satellite anyway. Cruise Control – Was working fine prior to engine swap. Now cannot find a speed setting. Perhaps related to speedo drive gear. A new servo has been found by local Chrysler dealer. Front bumper has a few scratches. Right rear wheel slightly out of balance at high speed (80+ MPH) This vehicle is being sold “as-is” with no implied warranty.
