This car is being relisted due to an attempted scam!
This is a 1940's Chrysler New Yorker that was owned by my Uncle. He purchased the car from the original owner in 1965, and kept the car in very good, drivable condition until his death in 1981. Since that time the car has been sitting and neglected. I have not been able to confirm the year of this car as there is no title. However my Uncle always thought it to be either a 1942, just prior to WWII or a 1946, just following the war and Chrysler's war production years. I have tried to research the serial number but was not sucessful. Although interested ebayers have confirmed to me that the car is in fact a 1946.
This New Yorker was a beautiful car in it's day and with a complete restoration could be again. It has a Straight Eight motor with the fluid drive transmission. Although someone has stolen the air breather, (misaligning the hood while doing it) the motor is complete and was running when parked. I dont know if the motor is locked-up now and have no way to check it. I dont think it is, but can't gaurantee that the motor will turn freely. The rest of the drive train is complete.
Someone has also stolen the hub caps and beauty rings from the wheels as well as the sunvisor. The body is in very good condition with only surface rust and a couple of small holes in the exterrior of the lower doors which should be an easy repair. The floor pans in the front are rusted through and will need replaced. The rear passenger compartment floorboards feel solid, but I have not pulled the carpet back to check. The trunk floor pan will need to be replaced as well. And the battery tray is rusted through. There are some chrome trim pieces missing but most are there. All the glass is there though not in great shape. It has a radio, and the dash is complete with all knobs. The rest of the interrior appears complete. The green plaid seat covers were installed by the original owner.
The title and keys have been lost so a bill of sale will be provided.
This was Chysler's top of the line car in it's day and it will make a wonderful restoration or "resto-mod" for someone. I will not part the car out! I have many more photos available that I can email.
Of course there is no warranty and the vehicle is sold as is. Delivery is possible for additional fee, or you will have to arrange pick-up. I will not accept payments for shipping to be forwarded to your shipper.
Payment in cash or cashiers check within seven days of end of auction or if necessary contact seller for other options.
