This 1971 Datsun 240z is in great condition. It has very good looking midnight blue paint with a very clean black interior. The thing that sets this car apart from the rest is the rare Nissan made v8 engine. There have been many kits to install American made v8s into these cars, but this swap has only been done by a few lucky people. I started out by getting a $75 mock up engine from the junk yard to fab up the mounts, transmission and flywheel adapter, and make sure I could get everthing to work. The mounts are polyurethane filled and very strong. The transmission adapter was made out of 1/2 aluminum stock and the flywheel adaptor was made out of a chunk of steel on a lathe. After getting all the mounts and adapters made I ordered a lower milage JDM engine. The transmission is a stock unit out of a late model non-turbo 300zx. I chose this transmission because it has been said to hold more power than any other 5 speed I could find. The driveshaft was made at a driveline shop out of a 300zx front hub and 280zx rear hub. The differential is a long-nose r200 out of a 1983 280zx turbo. The CV shafts were also swapped out of the 1983 280zx to complete the drivetrain. The car did have some rust when I first purchased it, but everything was repaired before it ever hit the road. The paint job is about 4 years old, and is in very good condition, except for a couple of chips. It runs very good, and has never let me down. I've had this car for around 9 years now, and I hate to see it go, but I have grown up and I think it's time to get something more "family" oriented. To become a daily driver the car would need some weatherstripping, a
door latch, and a reverse switch, but it is a fun little car that gets
your heart pumping every minute your in it.

I do not have the current mileage on the car as the speedometer was replaced before I purchased the car. The motor has around 50,000 miles on it.
I also have many more pictures available at http://s559.photobucket.com/albums/ss38/thebigjrs/. The car is currently inspected in PA until the end of this month. The inspection ran out the end of October, but I could have it inspected if necessary. Please contact me with any questions you may have. I do have the car listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. If sending a phone number please give me a time to contact you. Thanks
On Nov-06-09 at 09:38:40 PST, seller added the following information: I have added a couple more pictures of the underneath of the car up on photobucket. Also there has been some confusion about the engine, it has ~300hp stock, without the turbocharger. With the turbocharger it has alot more power, I would have to guess somewhere around 425hp at the 6 psi of boost it's running.
Also if the auction goes above 7000 I will include the tablet computer I use to tune the car.
