Just to prove that everything old is new again, up for bids today is this economical 1976 Datsun F10. This car was bought new in Beaverton Oregon and has had just one careful owner from new. This is the rare type of car that has never missed a oil change, one that has never spent a night outdoors, a car that has been kept in top condition as a point of pride.
The car comes with one of the most comprehensive sets of records that you're likely to see, a handwritten narrative in 2 booklets that outline every aspect of service this car has had over the last 32 years.

The car still wears its original paint, "Cherry Red", code 905. It's held up very well, a testament to the benefits of being garage kept all these years. There's few little dings here and there, probably the worst of them is a little wrinkle on the passenger side front that has been straightened out. The car is super solid with no rust issues anywhere - zero, zip, zilch.
All of the car's weatherstipping is original and still in great shape. Glass is the original "Tempalex" and with the exception of a little wiper rash on the windshield, it's all excellent.
History:
This car has one of the best paper trails I've ever seen. The owner (Laverne) kept a record of every time the the car was filled with fuel over the span of 32 years. Date, mileage, gallons, price. The first entry was on July 31st, 1976 - gas was 53 cents a gallon. These booklets also detail the car's service history down to the smallest detail. The paperwork that comes with the car includes:
- Recent battery and tire warranties
- Fuses with handwritten records of anytime one was replaced, and where
- Pre-delivery inspection sheet from Beaverton Datsun
- Dealer warranty booklet
- Original F-10 foldout brochure
- Original owner's manual and dealer envelope, plus the original title from 1976
- Handwritten fuel and service records in 2 booklets
- The car also comes with its original "Nissan" keys and a F10 service manual.
Interior:
The interior of this car is in time warp condition, just really well preserved. The driver's seat has a couple of splits, that's about the only thing I can find to pick on. Carpet is original and like new. Dash pad is perfect with no cracks, even around the speaker grill.
If you remember these cars from days past, sitting in this Datsun will bring back a lot of forgotten memories. Little things, like the dampened mechanical action of the door locks, the distinctively Japanese sound of the turn signal relay clicking, the seat belt warning buzzer - these things all give this little Datsun a personality all its own.
The back seat doesn't appear to have been used much, it's in mint condition, right down to the seat belt clasp retainers. The car has never been smoked in, the lighter and both ashtrays are unused
All controls and intsruments are working perfectly, just like new. The radio works but will need a replacement antenna to bring in more stations. The glovebox holds Laverne's logbook, spare fuses, and warranty receipts for the battery and tires. Pencil is dutifully present in its appointed slot.
The underdash area tells the story of the sheltered life this car has lived. No muddy boots, dogs, or spilled sodas. The 3rd picture shows the original floor mats, I removed them for most of the pictures to show the perfect carpet underneath.
The rear cargo area likewise appears unused, its showroom fresh condition will really blow you away. No scuffs, scrapes and dings, really just incredible.
The side cargo doors are also perfect, behind one is the factory tool kit and jack, the other shows the fuel filler lines. The release buttons are perfect, the last person to touch them was probably was probably an assembly line worker in Yokohama!
Door panels are excellent, locks both work, windows both wind smoothly.
Engine:
This gas sipping Datsun starts at the flick of the key and runs great. No coaxing or prodding, the motor springs to life instantly and is ready to go. The car runs and drives excellent with the total predictability and reliability these Japanese gems are known for. The car shifts well, brakes well, stays cool, tracks straight, doesn't smoke, doesn't squeak or rattle, it's just a very well behaved car.
Engine bay is stock and original with no modifications.
Solid and original undercarriage with perfect floor pans and no sign of rust issues anywhere.
