I am listing this car for a friend, and I will post his phone number later.
This is a 1970 Dodge Charger 500. Galen has decoded the fender tag and it is in the Chrysler Registry.
Originally the car was a 318 w/904 trans. It now has a built 440 with a 727 auto and an 8-3/4 rear with 3.91 Sure grip.
The car is blue w/black stripes taken from a Hurst proto-type pic. offered to Dodge in 69. They didn't accept. He has the article and the pics. from a mag. The cars body work and paint was done in 2001. There were patches put in where needed. The rear valance was rusty and dented, it should have been replaced, but was repaired. The body work is 7 years old and could use a refreshing. It is a good 20 footer. This car is driven to local shows and is not a trailer queen! The trunk floor has had prior patches and should be replaced to be really nice. The front floor pans were fixed at the same time as the body was done, but could use some work in the back for some small holes. The rear frame rail on the pass. side was repaired resently. (see pic.)
Engine: The engine is a 440 bored .040 w/Mopar pistons. The 906 heads had a 3 angle valve job, the Hughs cam #2832bl is a 540 Exhaust, 524 Int. lobe 110 and 228/232 duration w/new lifters and springs made for this cam. The intake is a Tranchula w/a Holley 750 double pumper.
Transmission: 727 manual valve body, 2800 stall convert.
Interior: The carpet and headliner are new. The dash and steering wheel are crack free! The seats although not bad could be recovered for show or leave alone for go! There is a Tic-Toc-Tac in the dash and the car also has the light package, including the hood mounted turn signals.
The car is a strong runner and a very dependable driver as is or fix it up.
Look at the pics.
