Wow what a cool car! This 65 coronet is a rare find with only 818 made with the 361. Who knows haw many are still around?
Don't let the looks scare you this is a solid old car waiting for the next step. The 361 runs great, it has a 4 barrel, dual point distributor, and headers! The automatic shifts well. And the power is transfered to the pavement via a sure grip posi rear end! I think it is a 323 but not sure. The rear end casting # is 2070741 23a.
The body is still wearing the original paint not in great shape but what you see is what is there is no bondo hiding here! The car is very solid, but there are areas as far as rust go that need attention. The worst area is the driver side front floor pan has a hole in it by the gas pedal, all the other floor areas inculding the trunk and under the rear seat are in good condition. There is also a small area behind both rear wheels on the quaters no too bad! All and all very little rust for a convertible of this vintage!
Here is a list of what works and what will need repair. The fuel tank has been cleaned and the lines replaced. It will need a new sending unit but the gauge is functional.
All of the lights work, turn signals work, brake lights work, reverse lights work. The temp gauge almost instantly goes to hot even before the engine warms up. The charging system and gauge work. The speedometer is not working. The heater controls and fan work great. The wiper motor works.
The convertible top frame is complete and in good shape it will need a new covering. The top motor works via the switch, it will need a hose kit and possibley new rams. The console shifter cables will also need some adjustment.
The power steering and brakes work good. The car drives down the road good.

There are also some extra parts with the car, radio, driver side door panel and ect. The front windwhield looks newer and the gasket has been replaced.
