1970 DODGE CHALLENGER RT - NUMBERS MATCHING - BARN FIND
Fuzzy Dice Auto Sales has one of the very finest collector cars we have ever had the pleasure to market. I know the term “barn find” has been used and over but I am forced to use it one more time. Here is the history on this incredible specimen of Mopar marvel:
This 70 Challenger RT was found several years ago intact and 100% factory. The lucky finder completely restored the car bringing it back to the way she was born. Every nut, bolt, belt, hose and everything else were removed, cleaned and if needed, painted then put back on. The matching numbers 383 Magnum. 335 HP, 727 engine, transmission, and matching 8 & Âľ, 323 Sure Grip rear were taken apart and put back together and like the rest of the car are now in perfect assembly line condition. She still has her original brake lining, springs, clips and cables, all restored to perfection. The original factory paint is still visible on many of the under carriage parts.
With the exception of the tires, all the other rubber including the belts, hoses and gaskets are completely original. Even the plug wires and rotor cap are original.
The under carriage when found was in impeccable condition. Everything underneath was taken apart, cleaned and repainted to factory specs. Start to finish photographs were taken of the complete restoration and are available to serious bidders.
Now here is some information about the rest of this very special Challenger.
Exterior: The car was repainted in its original Hemi Orange. The finish is perfect in every detail. The original vinyl top is also in perfect condition. The base model wheel covers, grill, chrome, glass and badges are in excellent original condition. The original “Scat Pack” Bee stickers are proudly displayed on both rear quarter windows. The only sticker that was not salvageable was the jack instruction label. The 1975 Pennsylvania inspection sticker is still on the windshield. The headlights, tail- lights, bezels and wiper assembly are all original. What sets this car apart from almost all other Challengers RT's is the factory-delete trim that was special ordered by the original owner. The only “RT” badge appears on the grill. It’s delete of the trunk emblem and chrome package. Just you’re basic hotrod. The only thing that separates this from a brand new one is the calendar. Sit in it and you’re in a Chrysler showroom in 1970.
Interior: Everything inside with the exception of the carpeting is completely original. All the gauges, radio and even the clock work to perfection. The seats, door panels, dash panel and headliner look just as new as if the car just rolled off the assembly line.
This car built in September of 1969 was found with 25,916 original miles. The restorer added 45 miles to her since its restoration. This baby comes complete with 3 build sheets, copies of the original title and more.
If you are looking for one of the most desirable Mopar collector cars anywhere, then your search is over. You will find none nicer. This beauty doesn’t go out for ice cream and is way too cool for cruise nights.
