Up for auction is an original 1969 Dodge Charger RT 440, automatic. The car was last painted in 1980 and it still looks good to this day. It is a numbers match 440 motor with a 727 automatic tranny, hemi suspension, 323 suregrip posi rear end, buckets, console and power windows. The car bears its second paint job since the original color was dark green with a black R/T stripe on the tail panel but now the car has been black since 1980. The car has not been driven much over the last 20 years since the car was painted. Some of the things that were done to the car was a new black vinal top, velour center seat cover inserts, new headliner, package tray and visors. The interior is in very good condition with no rips in the seats or the headliner. The visors were never put on or the package tray was never installed. I have the new visors and package tray still in the boxes to go with the car. The only items that are not original to the car is the carburator and the intake because they were stolen when the car went in for paint.
The body is in very reasonable considering the age of the paint and body work. You can see in the pic's of the floors that they are very solid along with the frame rails too. The trunk is solid other than a hole that I was told was made for a fuel pump that was mounted in the trunk. The quarters do have some bondo in them but still look good with no cracks or scaling or any of the aging body work. The fenders are in great shape as well as the grill and the hood. The car is a great original numbers matching driver that anyone would be able to enjoy for along time before you would need to do a complete restoration. I have had the car since 2006 and have actually only drove the car one time. I recentlly did a tune up on the car and got in running good. It does not blow blue smoke, but it idles and runs very good for how long it has been off the road.
There is not much else to say other than the fact that this car is and original R/T car that retains it's original driveline. You can get in this car and drive it out on the town or you can take it and restore it to the car it once was when it was first sold new. Please feel free to e-mail me for more info if needed.
