Vehicle Description

For sale by a car collector is a gorgeous 1970 Dodge Swinger 340 tribute.

This car was rotisserie restored about 20,000 miles ago and looks great! I have a photo album documenting much of the restoration.

This car is always garaged and covered, and only driven by me in nice weather. It always gets a "thumbs up" every time I drive it, and is a big attention getter.

Everything on this car was redone from top to bottom. That includes a rebuilt 360 engine with 1970 340 heads and exhaust manifolds. It has a 750 Thermoquad carb, and upgraded MSD ignition with electric cooling fans. It also has a rebuilt Mopar OD A833 transmission with Hurst 4-speed floor shifter. Clutch was of course replaced during the rebuild.

It has a completely redone interior, from dash to headliner to seat covers to carpet, to door panels, and looks great. It includes a correct ralley instrument cluster with Autometer center tach, and all gages work properly. It also has a power driver's bucket seat for added convenience. It is an AC car from the factory, but compressor and condensor are not installed. All heater, defrost, and fan controls work as they should. Interior lights all work, as does the AM/FM radio.

The car has no rust whatsoever, and was originally a southern car. It has factory tinted windows. All body panels are straight, and the car was never wrecked. The body was stripped to bare metal and painted with PPG Concept black paint, and buffed to a brilliant shine. You have to look hard to find any paint chips, which are minimal due to the low miles since the restoration. The bottom of the car was also stripped of all undercoating, rustproofed, and recoated.

Chrome is in great shape; no rust or pitting; a very minor "thinning" in one spot on the rear bumper (hard to see in pic).

It has the "big bolt" pattern 15x7 wheels front and rear, with ralley wheels and center caps. Front disc brakes. All suspension components replaced front and rear with later A-body components for better handling. Also has power steering.

The car has gold interior accents, black carpet, and gold "bumble bee" stripe that looks awesome with the black paint and white interior. It also has a gold pin stripe on the side, just because I liked the look, but that can easily be removed if you're a purist.

The dual exhaust sounds great with a deep rumble, but is not so loud that it's annoying.

Overall this is a great car!

Just a few more notes on the car, in case you are interested in bidding:

The 360 cubic inch block is from a mid-70's Dart Sport, and was bored 30 over during the rebuild.

The rear end I think is a 3:23, for better economy during highway cruising. I'm 55 years old and not interested in burning up rubber, but there's plenty of power and torque if that's what you want to do on take-off!

The dual exhaust is a Magnaflow, with stainless tips that look great.

The interior has a map light switch just to the lower left of the steering column that I believe works a light which is independent of the dome courtesy light. Flipping the switch doesn't turn on an inside light, so it must be burned out. I can't seem to find where it is to replace it. Dome light works fine. The interior trunk light wasn't working today; I'll be looking for a replacement bulb for that this weekend. Also, the front top fender mounted exterior directional amber lights are not hooked up. Easy fix. Ofcourse, the directionals in the instrument cluster work fine. The rear backup lights are also not working. I looked under the car as best I could (don't have a lift) and noticed a wire connector end not hooked up in the transmission area, so that is probably the reason.

I was looking closely at the chrome this morning and noticed that in addition to some slight thinning on the rear bumper there's a slight thinning spot on the front bumper just below the right directional signal. Also the outside driver's rear view mirror and vent window trim is not as brilliant as new. These areas still reflect images fine, just not with the same clarity as a mirror. None of this  will show up in the pics, but do not detract at all from the overall appearance of the car!

Hope this helps! And please call if you have any questions!

Steve
