i have had many many emails about this car once it ended. i told people to make me offers, if i liked one, i would sell it. noone did. so i am going to relist it once more. if it doesn't sell, i will put it in storage with my 68 charger. i also just purchased a 70 charger SE also. so i will put these away to build later. so bid away or give me a "buy it now" price, and i will add it to the auction if i like it.
up for auction is a 1969 dodge dart GTS. accordng to the vin number, LS23P9B , this is a 1969 GTS 340 4 speed. one of 1022 i believe is the numbers i found. many many years ago, someone took the 340, 4 speed and hood. also the gts decklid was removed and replaced with another decklid. someone stole the fender tag along the way also. i know this car sat in a corn field for many years, at least 15 years i would say, probably more. the quarter panels were replaced many years back and fiberglass was added to the outer wheelhouses. quarters will need replacing or repair again. the trunk floor was patched with fiberglass. floors have spots that were patched, but aren't terrbile. the frame rails aren't that bad. drivers front frame rail is the worst, right under the cowl section, and its the bottom of the rail thats bad. the rest of the frame rails aren't that bad. front fenders had repairs also. this car has rust here and there, and places that were patched many many years ago. this car is rough, but it is restorable. its a money mopar. heres some good points: power disc brakes are on the car. power steering. 8 3/4 suregrip rearend. 4 speed pedals and floor hump present. good glass. grille looks pretty good but is for a '67 i believe. the seats in the car are from something else, no idea what though!!! what you see is what you get. i do NOT have a title or registration for this car. one can be applied for here in New York, or go threw broadway or international title service. vin tag is on the dash, factory rivets are in place. i have so many other projects, i won't get to this one for a while. i'd love to see it go to someone that will save this car!! i planned to keep this, put it away in the back of the garage, and start collecting a few mopars. darts aren't really my thing, but if i can't sell this car i will keep it for a project later.
i am looking for soem charger parts also, maybe something could be worked out. i need a drivers door, pass side fender, and decklid for sure. buddy seat and brackets also. i haven't checked the pass door over completely yet so i don't know about that. my stuff isn't that bad i just want nicer stuff. also a 383 and 727 trans is needed.
car is sold as is. car must be picked up within 60 days end of auction, otherwise storage fees of $5 per day will apply. after 120 days the vehicle is forfitted along with the money paid for the vehicle, meaning no refunds, you lose your car and your money. i am only doing this because i have cars that have been here for 2 years now, many of which will become my property again soon.
this car is being sold AS IS. buyer MUST contact me within 48 hours end of auction. payment is due within 10 days end of auction. NO exceptions. NO bidders outside the continental U.S., NO exceptions. local pickup only. buyer can arrange and pay for there own shipping if wanted. all shipping arrangements are the buyers responsibility. zero feedback bidder must contact me BEFORE bidding.
i talked to the gentleman that used to won the car. he had it 10-15 years ago and did enough work on it to make it roadworthy. the place where they bought it had some other parts cars, 67s and 68s, so thats where those parts came from. he just wanted to get it together to drive and used what parts he could find.
the quarters on this car were replaced many many years ago. the quarters were replaced with 68 quarters. the wiring harness was cut and spliced into the 68 marker lights. the taillights were replaced with 68s also. the grille is from a 67. one front fender has 3 small emblem holes that appear to have been for the GTS emblem. the other fender does not have that. the seats are NOT original to this car so i can not find a build sheet. i can't find one under the dash either. i think whoever had the car replaced the quarters and other parts with whatever year they could find, or they prefered the 67/68 stuff over the 69. the hood is missing because it was the GTS hood. the fender tag someone must have wanted on thier car, but they DIDN'T take the vin tag, so it doesn't make sense why they would even take the fender tag. i will be adding more pictures later this evening. i have taken a bunch already. if anyone has any questions please ask. this car is great for parts if noone wants to build it back to a GTS. 4 speed pedals, hump, 8 3/4 suregrip and disc brakes are great items to have.
ok people, i chipped threw the very thick paint job on the car and found the radiator support lip # and the trunk lip #. both match the vin # on the dash of the car, so this car is an original 1969 GTS 340 4 speed. vin # is LS23P9B2895xx , trunk and radiator support # reads B9 2895xx. it is a little rough and is missing the numbers match motor and transmission, GTS hood and decklid, but it still is a GTS. 1022 4 speed 340 GTS's made in '69 according to the search i did. restore it how you want. the 8 3/4 may be original, i have not tried to verify that, and i haven't verified the gear ratio yet.
