1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi – about 33,000 miles. I purchased this vehicle in September, 1988, thus have owned it for just short of 20 years of its 27 year life. The car has never been in an accident while I have owned it and I no reason to believe it was in one prior. In general, the car is complete and stock in most every way. The prior owner did add a built-in radar detector. There are no horrifying modifications to the interior (no botched speaker holes, etc.). The interior is completely stock as can be seen. The red carpets are in excellent condition, while the black “Ferrari” floor mats are a bit worn. Seats are in relatively good shape, with no rips in either. The driver’s seat has some scuffing on the left seatback where the driver slides in and out. Dash is in excellent shape as is the original steering wheel – all gauges work fine, including the clock. Windows don’t go up and down which is typical of solidified grease from its age. Window motors are okay. Car’s 180 mph speedometer/odometer (currently installed in car) indicates about 18,500 miles while the original 80 mph speedometer/odometer (indicates about 14,000 miles) is also included in the sale. Body is in very good condition with no dents at all. A number of chips exist in the paint on the hood and fender louvers. Some chips on the sides of the car, but in general the paint is in excellent shape. One chip the size of a quarter is on the lower driver’s door. Another chip the size of about a dime is on the passenger’s side lower door. A couple of very minor surface (?) rust spots are also on the lower doors which are not very noticeable. I mention this, because I don’t want to claim the body is completely rust free. I am attempting to be as straight forward as practical. Rear lower grill has been repainted with heat resistant paint. Not the best job, but new owner may wish to have repainted if perfection required. Hard removable top is in excellent condition with no cracks. Cloth underside is in very good shape but a bit dirty from 25+ years of existence. Also have hardtop storage cover behind seat without any rips or tears. Tires have about 25% tread remaining, but should be replaced prior to driving at high speed. Wheels (including the spare) are the original Ferrari. Engine runs strong with no issues I am aware of. Timing belts and clutch were replaced less than 3,000 miles ago --- but quite a few years. Clutch and transmission operate problem free. Frame in engine compartment is reinforced (can be seen in the photos) by 1/8 x 1 x 6” plates on both right and left sides – hardly noticeable, but wish to mention as one item which is not stock. As can be seen in the picture, complete set of tools (brand new/never used?), tool pouch, jack with pouch, operator’s manual, warranty and service manual. Have some older receipts, but all service work performed by me (I have lift in my garage). Should you be looking for any information which is not indicated here, please contact me as I would be glad to answer all of your questions or forward additional specific photos, if desired. Overall this car is in very nice condition, certainly not a show car, but would be an excellent driver which you would be most proud of. Thanks for your interest.
