1981 Fiat Spider Commemorative edition #387 with 6750 original miles! This car runs strong and is fun to drive. The car is driven regularly. It starts right up and runs smooth. The transmission shifts perfect. I have partially restored the car, and planned on finishing it, but finances force me to sell the car.
Vin: 124CS000178305. (This car is early 1981, with 14 digit VIN)
In 1981 1000 Commemorative editions were made, so this car is very rare, with very low miles. The commemorative edition came with numbered plaque, upgraded interior, power widows, and 14" wheels. Very few Commemorative editions are left!
I am a ASE certified mechanic, with 25 years working on Fiats. I purchased the car from Arizona, where it was bought new. The car sat for years; it was unregistered since 1981.
This car has a clear title, but it has Salvage history. The car had a salvage certificate issued in 1981; it was rebuilt in 1981 after an accident.

The car runs good; the engine runs perfect and transmission shifts smooth. The lights and power windows work, radiator fan works good.
This car has nice set of after-market BBS style wheels
What has been done to the car:
New top, by previous owner
New timing belt and tensioner, just done.
Fuel system flushed, just tuned up
Brakes pads redone with new rotors.
Fluids changed, radiator flushed.
What the car needs:
The car was repainted, but the paint is faded. The car is straight, with no noticeable dents. The paint is peeling on the trunk, and there are some minor cracks in the previous bodywork if you look close. The car is solid. The passenger floor has been repaired; it had some minor rust from sitting outside.
The tires look like new, but may have flat spots from sitting
The car could use new control arms. The bushings and the rubber boots on the ball joints were shot from sitting.
The car does not currently have a radio.
The front spoiler is broken (available on Ebay)
The car is weathered, it needs rubber weather-stripping
The interior is in average shape. The seats are good with no rips. The door panes and carpet are fair; dash has a cover, but I am sure it has cracks).
The car is missing part of one side commemorative emblem. It does not have the original wheels.
Overall this is a good running spider. It needs some work, but has a lot of potential.
