History of this 1966 Pony Mustang
The original owner purchased this car in Coral Gables, Florida. I tried to contact the dealer for more information but had no luck. The owner's sales dealer was Huskamp Ford, Inc. At the time of purchase, in 1994, it had 104,484 miles and it currently stands at 107,494 miles a little more than 14 years later!
I purchased this Pony in 1994 for several reasons:
1. It had the nicest equipment. V8, Power Steering, NO Rust and had been well taken care of.
2. Dual Exhaust with exhaust horns and beautiful color combinations. It's color is referred to by Ford as "Vintage Burgundy" and is accompanied by a white convertible top.
3. Pony Interior w/Parchment Covers.
4. And Factory A/C
(There is NO Rust but the car did have faded exterior) So When Purchased:
5. I had the car painted with the latest technology. Because of the Florida sun I insisted on base coat/clear coat. It looks like new since the car is always in the garage!
In 1999 we moved back to Ohio using a covered van. The car still sits in my heated garage with a cover.
A few Enhancements I have done myself:
1. I have installed L.C.D Sequencing Turn Signals2. Added a removable and/or removable Mustang Mid Front Seat Console for Misc.3. Changed the Mechanical Point Type Ignition to Solid State.
4. Added the "Monte Carlo Bar" This bar is the extra bar seen under the hood of the Mustang and was installed to improve the overall rigidity of the car's structure.
A Few Interesting Facts:
This Mustang is a 10-time trophy winner! It was also selected by "Mustang Monthly" for a Five-Page Detailed Description of my Convertible Conversion (A 2-hour video is available) Feb. 1995.
