This truck has had a body off restoration done several years ago. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt and the differential is a Ford 9", which, for highway driving, could be changed easily, but is fine for around town. The truck drives and stops great. The engine is a typical 8BA, "hummer" with dual stainless steel exhaust and glasspacked mufflers....sounds great, doesn't smoke, and starts with a touch of the starter button. The headliner is like new, as well as the seat. All gaging is original, and it has a 12 volt system. The wiring is all new, with a fused terminal block....no hanging wires anywhere, there are working directionals...manual cancelling, the heater is from Chrysler, but fits fine and has a 3 speed blower. It has a new AM/FM cassette radio, not digital. The wiper is original equipment, vacuum operated. The engine area is immaculate, with a new carburator, battery, starter and it is equipped with the optional oil filter. The truck could use new paint. There are a couple of areas with chipped, scratched or bubbling paint, but very minor, and has no rust. It has an all steel body. The sides of the bed show typical dents, the floor of the bed was redone with new wood and stainless runners, looks excellent. It has Firestone wide white wall tires on great looking wheels with new hub caps. The front and rear bumpers are stainless as well as the tail light housings. It has both an AHOOGA and original horns.
I purchased the vehicle about 3 years ago and have had fun adding some features, fine tuning the engine and showing it at our local car shows. It's not a show stopper, but not far from it, if someone would pursue that end.
If I had a 3 car garage I would not be selling this truck, but I am up in years and need a place for my daily driver, especially in winter. The terms for selling are, buy this truck as is, where is, and pay with cashiers check or cash, no trades. |
