Up for auction is my 20th Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino that I have built and sold on ebay. (Europeans...See the end of the description...I sell to Europe!) Go to http://www.bornagaintorinos.com and you will be able to see more and larger photos of this torino as well as a video of it starting and running, and photos of the last 19 that I have sold on ebay. This Gran Torino is a 1975. The engine is a big block 400 cubic inch 2 barrel. It has 123,000 miles on the car and I don’t know if the engine has ever been rebuilt. It runs so good it makes me wonder if it was just really taken care of well or if it’s been rebuilt at some point. It’s obvious it’s been garaged a good portion of it’s life judging by the shape the original paint was, the condition of the dash pad and interior, the chrome etc. The factory options are, cruise control (I have not tried it to see if it still works), Air Conditioning (all there, needs servicing), Deluxe light package featuring hood and trunk lights and more interior lighting, Visor Vanity mirror, Rear window de-icer. The car also has Air Shocks (not sure of the age), Vintage Slot Mags (15” on the rear 14” on the front for that great muscle cars stance) The rear tires are P275/60R15 and the front tires are P225/70R14. The paint is only two weeks old and is the correct 2B Bright Red and Wimboldon White with the correct width black pin stripe. The entire car was primered with 2-stage epoxy primer. It is a very solid car, drives straight and true with no pulling to either side. The doors close perfectly with no sagging at all. The trunk lid and hood close perfectly as well. The chrome and glass are in very good condition. The wheel lip molding on the passenger side is in rough condition. They will pass for now until you can upgrade them to nice ones. The rocker trim is in very nice shape, It was missing the driver side molding so I used a nice one from a 76 Gran Torino Station Wagon witch is identical but a bit longer because of the longer wheel base, so I cut it down to the correct size and put it back together. My wife followed me when I drove it to the paint shop and she said it didn’t smoke or stink at all. It had a vinyl top and opera windows which were professionally welded over. I used POR putty in the trim holes as well as a small rust spot behind the passenger rear wheel. As with any car you are thinking of buying on ebay, pay to have a local mechanic come over to check out the car and give you a report to make sure everything I said is true and give you piece of mind before you bid. Remember this is not a factory Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino and it is not a perfect car. Please keep in mind it is an antique car, It runs great, drives great but it’s an old car. I don’t believe in Reserves so I’m starting it at a low but reasonable price. There is no Down payment when the auction ends.
