You are bidding on a gorgeous 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL 4 door hardtop. It is offered by its owner, a private seller (NOT a dealer) who has accumulated too many toys. This is a NO RESERVE auction.
The car is powered by the original 352 V8-2bbl and automatic transmission. This is a very smooth, whisper quiet motor with factory dual exhaust. This car runs great. It tracks straight, shifts smooth and is driven regularly by its owner.
This is a rare Galaxie 500 XL 4 door hardtop, featuring center console shifter and factory bucket seats. Not only is it rare to see a 500 XL in a 4 door hardtop but this car came highly optioned from the factory.
FACTORY OPTIONS: The car came equipped with factory power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, power driver's seat, inside trunk release, factory am/fm radio with reverb, remote driver's side mirror, factory dual exhaust, optional center chrome accent strip on the hood and front and rear bumper guards (presently not on the car but included in sale).
EXTERIOR: The Galaxie was repainted last year to the original color. This is the first and only repaint the car has had. The car is solid underneath, solid floors, solid trunk. Bumpers are rechromed. The other brightwork on the car is in very good, original condition. The car has the optional, factory wire wheel hubcaps.
INTERIOR: The interior is all original except for one piece on the driver's seat that was replaced with matching vinyl. The car has new carpets. See above for all the many factory options. The car also front seat belts, which we believe came from the factory, too.
MECHANICAL: The 352 V8 runs and drives smooth. The car sports 5 brand new tires (4 plus spare). The car has new front and rear springs and front end alignment. New fuel pump and master cylinder. Rebuilt power brake booster.
MISC: This car is in excellent, original condition but not perfect. There is one open seam in the headliner which may be repaired. Replacement headliners cost less than $100. Included in the sale is a new dash cap and the accessory bump guards. Everything is in good working order except am/fm radio recently stopped working (working am radio included in sale) and the power door locks are not working. The power seat and power windows work great.
