You are now viewing a Very Nice Example and Extremely Collectible 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 2 Door Fastback. This 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 fastback is presented in its original factory color of Peacock Blue with a Full Cover White Vinyl top and is complimented with Black Vinyl Seating with Silver Piping and Carpets throughout. This Classic Fastback Ford is powered by its Original Numbers Matching and Very Rare power train set up consisting of a 390 C.I. Z-Code 300H.P. V8 Engine and all power is transferred thru a Factory Original 4-Speed Manual Transmission. This 19631/2 Galaxie Fastback was built at Fords St. Louis assembly plant on may 29th 1963. Ford staged one of the most widely promoted mid-year introductions by any car company with their 1963-1/2 models. The Galaxie 500 and Galaxie 500-XL sported a new "fastback" roof design on the two-door hardtop. This was a marked change from the squared-off, T-Bird inspired formal roofline used for years on Galaxie models. This Classic Galaxie 500 Fastback has spent the majority of its life in the Midwest and has had the honor of being owned by 3 different Ford Dealer owners that have worshipped, preserved and properly maintained this very special Galaxie. As you will see in the photos of this car the body is completely rust free and the body laser straight. This Galaxie 500 has 90 % of its original paint on the body and has only been touched around the wheel lip areas to freshen them up. The body side, Front Grill, and Rear Bright trim on this Galaxie are in outstanding condition all the way around. The chrome front and rear are in good condition and the top fender spears show as good as new. The Full Cover Vinyl top is like new in all respects. This 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 is equipped with its original factory chrome spoke wheel covers with spinners and are wrapped with a healthy set of Goodyear white wall radial tiers. The interior of this Galaxie 500 is all original for the exception of the added Tachometer. The condition of the interior speaks for itself. The Seating, Carpets and Headliner are in remarkably good condition and the dash and rear tray are also in very nice condition. Mechanically this car needs nothing. The most desirable part of this Galaxie is the engine and drive train combination. Very few original 390 Z Code 4-Speed manual Galaxies exist and this is what adds to the collectibility and appreciation in values on these cars. For the future, these cars have excellent potential to appreciate in value ahead of the average collector vehicle. They are handsome, durable, well-built vehicles that drive surprisingly well.
The engine and transmission factory setup on this Galaxie can be verified from the data plate, which you will see in the photos. The 390 Z Code V8 has a few soft adds. This Z Code recently received an Edelbrock manifold and an Edelbrock Weber 650 cfm 4 bbl carburetor to improve the already great performance. In addition to dress this Z Code up a bit Ford Racing Chrome Valve Covers and Air Cleaner were added. The exhaust system on this Galaxie 500 consists of a true dual factory setup with stock exhaust manifolds and are finished off with a health set of Glass Pack mufflers to give this Z Code a very nice throaty tone. Please take a few moments and review the photos of this exceptional Galaxie 500 and we are sure you will agree that there are no disappointments found here. You can bid in confidence that you will be winning a very original Galaxie 500 with one of the most desirable engine and transmission setups available anywhere today.
