1962 Scout 80
This is a great little truck, we call her “Rosie”, and she’s a mostly original, unmolested, running, driving classic. I hate to sell her but we don’t have anywhere to store her inside anymore. We mostly drive her in the summer, which is really fun with the top off, windows down and you can even take the doors off for that extra airy feel. When you drive her you have to be prepared for a few things: One, she is not fast, so a little extra time is needed. Two, seems like everyone wants to take a look or tell a story about a scout in their past.
Details:
73000 original miles, 4cyl-152, 3 speed, “All Wheel” drive (4x4), Hi-Low, locking hubs, fold down windshield, roll up windows on doors, working vacuum wipers, bench seat (4” slice in drivers side from sharp object in pocket), roll bar, new Les Schwab SXT Mud Terrain tires, great body, no cracks in glass, working heater/defroster, all nobs in interior move freely and work, clear title in hand.
Things I know that need to be fixed:
Fuel gage quit working recently
Needs a new muffler
The Rust:
The floorboards have surface rust but no weak spots or holes, and they are the original pans. The pickup bed appears to have been replaced by the previous owner. The bottom of the toolbox in the bed is still strong. The tailgate has some bubbling in the paint. I don’t know what to tell ya…it’s an old truck.
