You are looking at a 1978 Lincoln Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. This is Ford Motor Company's 75th anniversary car, which was manufactured in only two colors: Jubilee Gold and Diamond Blue. This car is the Diamond Blue color, the more rare of the two. Ford Motor Co. manufactured approximately one Diamond Jubilee Edition vehicle per dealer.
I am a classic Lincoln collector. This is a show car that has been in my collection since 2005. It has 25K original miles and has been garage kept for her entire life. The paint and interior are all original and in excellent condition. This car won first place at the Texas State meet in 2005 and has earned an enviable collection of other show trophies throughout her career as a show car. This car's condition is comparable to similar cars that I have personally judged as first place winners at Lincoln National meets.
The Diamond Jubilee Edition has every available option offered on the Mark V at the time they were built. Several items on this car need attention. Both power door lock actuators need to be replaced. (The parts are readily available and easy to replace). The air conditioner is inoperable, however a new compressor has been purchased and will be included with the car (see photo). You need only install the compressor and charge the system. Mechanically, the car is in near perfect condition, and the 460-V8 engine runs smoothly and quietly. Original took kit and umbrella are included.
